Bark
fragments-
a quiver
tree begins to
age.
Ekphrasis after Bark as art by Katherins Keats -Shell Photo Comp 2006
The scent still lingers
In the air
Such wonderful taste.

I’ve not accepted
Losing for fear that it might
Be habit forming.

I shudder to think
Perhaps my greatest moment,
I saved for later.
You are my shelter
My foundation
And in between
The room
To furnish
With a dream

Life is not only
About picking wildflowers,
Weeds need the hoe too!
Red dress
Dress impress
Freedom new
New pew
Fast freedom fire
Fire tire
Sky open
Open oven

Of man’s time is spending fast.

Desire will take you
Much further than your talent
Could ever imagine.
Jojo loves to bake
All day cookies, pies, and cakes
What a tummy ache.

Each time that life’s road takes an
Unexpected turn.

The greater hurt lies
More in things we already know
Than in what we don’t.

Grass fires burning now
Started by careless people
Sure hope they get caught.
Such lovely flowers
Sitting under the warm sun
They hold such beauty.

Sure wish it could have been more

The things I know pale
When compared to things I don’t
Hope things soon improve

life's like a Bull ride
It’s a jump, whirl, buck, and spin
And quickly over!
Diamond studded armour
A lance of pale moon light
Mounted on black beauty
Is a night of winter white.

Oak leaves
Fall from the tree
A few pictures, I need
If it wasn't, for these batteries.

The waves will come to you
2006 is in the past
Create yourself ever day
It takes time to move on in life
The Name tells it’s all it life

The experience
of you
germinates
a hungry
hungry little root
winding it's way
inside me
so warming
you must be seed
and sun

A
message
from heaven-
written in the
ground.
Ekphrasis inspired by The Hurricane Tree by Bergland winner of the Shell 2006
wildlife photo of the year.
On this day my mind is free
No more papers
No more projects
No more presentations
No more exams
No more tuition
The journey that began in 2006 is now over
That Bachelor’s degree is finally mine
The ground is turning
and I'm still yearning
and I all I want is you
and I hope you want me too
I'm still wishing
soon maybe I'll be done fishing
Cause you'll be
that right fish in the sea
