Infamy

Oh the disgrace
Infamy and shame
The ridicule that’s now
Poured on her name.
There’s no escape
For she’s been seen
Trying to fake a pair
Of Designer jeans.

She couldn’t afford
The poor dear soul
The real thing and so
She cut her own holes
She fooled the world
For just a little while
Except they didn’t have
That designer style.

No ragged edges,
They looked too neat,
Too contrived and
Not really incomplete .
Sent to Coventry by
Her fashionable peers
Subject of ridicule
Whenever she appears.

Oh the disgrace
To be publicly seen
With fake holes cut
In counterfeit jeans.
She wears whole jeans now
One of the new fashion bold
And tells the world at large
Her legs are no longer cold.

No Longer Free To Go To a Market

Impecunious news hunters on Oxford Avenue
Craned over newspapers spread on the floor
To gather ammunition about who knew
The last gossip about a politician shown the door

By hacks in his political party for consorting with the sworn enemy
Sent to Coventry in corridors of power
Or which celebrity a court of law ordered to pay an alimony
Or who among supporters of Venomous Vipers FC sent a rose flower

To a big carrot’s girlfriend, raising the temperature in her home
Where her incensed husband puffing and huffing threatened to disfigure the alleged culprit
Whom he accused of destabilizing the genome
Insisting the culprit he would ill-treat

As news hunters speculated on merits and demerits of the law of the jungle
The aggrieved husband contemplated inflicting on the innocent man
News hunters felt didn’t deserve the bungle
The husband riding a rickety van planned as a ban

That would serve his wife right as she could no longer go to the market
To buy beef, cabbage, tomato
Even if she wasn’t involved in any racket
To sell or buy at low prices an Irish potato.

Blinking Blinkered

Blinkered

Out amongst the milky way
Where the planets walk in silence
There does start a brand new day
It’s an every day occurrence

Blinkered we are by the science
Nothing lives out there they say
Have to listen be compliant
Or get sent to Coventry, hey

There are other earthly spheres
Scattered through the cosmos way
One God mainly is feared
Keeps the inner animal at bay

Walk ye out amongst the comets
Walk amongst the milky way
See the craters as they vomit
All of this is yours to pay

Quicker than a lightening flash
The light ship thunders on it's way
Cosmo Naughts young n brash
Flashing hurtling there today

Finally we meet another
Yes there’s humans this I say
Pattern of one God is a looming
Other species to him pray

Don Johnson 18-may-11

If it rattles round inside your head
slap it on puter till its fed
Blinkered are we bout the cosmos
orderd planning thinks instead

makes sense some plan

Trish

Trish
Hairless legs and eyes of green
Bright red hair like a fire is seen
Bosom filling out her shirt
Make her jealous ?
Do not flirt

greeneyes flash
when she’s annoyed
lesser men have been destroyed

be alone at end of day
watching every word I say
hanging on me crucyifix
sent to Coventry with the hicks

Don
