'dear Summer,'

Dear Summer,

in reality "I hate you"
I hate your friend "sun" too.
every time you come around,
I have to change my boots
for sandles..
and put my favorite thermal
away just to make room for tank tops...

Eczema is an attraction to my body,
so heat isn't really my
kind of weather;
bumps begin to form
and its all your fault...

Summer,
you can be friendly from
day to day,
but from my point of view,
You're mean . . . .

Sincerely,
|Your worst enemy, T'Keyah Shamere Wilder -

More Snow

Winter snow surrounds me again
It reminds me of solitude
The snowy white icy field
The wind is blowing strong
The power outage continues on

When will it stop
I hate this snow
I hate anything white
Let it be green

I will survive
Wait for spring
I'll be happy

When sunshine
shows through

Warmth
