Rumormongers Poems | Examples

Premium Member Discouraging the Gossips and Rumormongers

I am confused by the rumors,
but give them no meaty merit
For I have not yet spoken to the source
I always go to the person and ask them if it is true

Please do not try to bother me
For I have learned the secrets of an instigator
When you say “I don’t know whether to tell you this”
it means I probably do not want to hear it.

Sometimes I say “please do not tell me”
But your goal is to rile me, and you tell me anyway
I do not react or overreact, because I do not want you to have power

Thus, you go away to bother others.
Rarely coming back to me.
It is my secret way of discouraging the gossips
and the rumormongers, and it works for me.

Premium Member How can she be normal

School teacher with a cup of tea on her chin
Tries to look normal said my cousin Finn
But how can she? Asked momma with a grin.
Normal women do not wear cups of tea on their chin.

Maybe she does not want to be normal at all I said.
Has anyone asked the woman? Or do we gossip instead?
Would a volunteer do it? Not today anyway.
At least I shut the rumormongers up for half of a day.

Premium Member Grizzly Bear Family

The tiny roly poly proud brown baby bear
Ate a delicious pink pear on a double dare.
It was from his big bossy brother, to be fair.
Which is something that is kind of rare.

The same mommy they do not share.
They have the same dad though, I swear
He’s a grizzly who wears large blue underwear
Don’t worry he also has purple stripes, his other spare.

The three of them know how to set a pretty good snare.
They have put these live traps out here and there
You cannot find them? Please look everywhere.
These boys are lively and fun, quite a sibling pair

Some think their grizzly father is kind of square
But he lets them watch reruns of my favorite, Cher
The rumormongers don’t even know him, so let’s be fair
Anyone that cool is a Daddy that I would love to share.
