That Was Then

We’d go tenting away from city lights, two best friends living on the edge of wow. And gaze at the stars on hot summer nights, connecting with the universe somehow. The world was our oyster; we dove for pearls and left our fortunes in the hands of fate. But then we started fighting over girls; what we used to love, we began to hate. We drifted apart and said our goodbyes; but that was then; this is now; we have changed. We're no longer those hormone-driven guys, and I believe our friendship got short-changed. We've lost too much time already, my friend; our childhood friendship does not need to end.
