Read to the ocean when alone
Read to the ocean
when alone -
flat-bottomed tanker
on the horizon
cargo unknown,
a gull -
one leg steady,
sleepy head.
Drop rhymes
at rock pools -
limpid clear
anemones wave
thin red arms,
cunjevoi squirt
applause
,or are silent,
amongst disappearing
hermit crabs
and lettuce-weed slugs.
Throw lines to the air -
a breeze,
a current
drift out
over the sea.
