Silica
This hotel is familiar, I think I’ve crashed here before
I smell the stench of the ones who’ve smashed here
Limited to closed curtains and a locked door
So the guilt doesn’t leave the room
And sway into the blue birds ear wax
There’s nothing wrong here, just relax
I don’t wanna’ know what you think or feel
I’m not someone who is going to help you heal
The only thing I’ll do for you is you and only you
The lonely feelings are the only ones true
You can’t tie strings to these fingers or hands
I’m no puppet, girl. I’m a drifting man
I’m living in an empty wasteland
Where love is as solid as silica sand
And emotions are bursting bottles of glass
They form the dirt and the tiny blades of grass
That stick in your feet and spill out little red blood cells
That trick you into puppetry and form mud shells
Around the few rational thoughts you still carry around
As if it’s the only thing that’s left of yourself
And the rest was just tossed on a display shelf
I’m unstable like Mount Damavand
Emitting sulfurs and holding it inside
But hey at least I’m not from Iran
It’s only from chains in which I hide
We submitted to a natural desire
And temptation only took us higher
I know, I’m aware…
You may feel like the bible in an atheist home
Just remember when you feel lost and alone
At least you know you’re human
And not some trash in the wasteland
Or a glass heart made from silica sand
Are you?
Never mind I don’t wanna’ know.
