And the saddest realization I had was
And the saddest realization I had was—
that I can't do it all, I can't learn every language,
speak in thousands of tongues, or understand the poetry of every land,
I can't live every life, be a writer, scientist, traveler, dreamer,
exist in every version of myself I ever imagined,
I can't master every skill, nor bring every dream to life,
some paths will remain untrodden, lost in time,
I can't step into every country, lose myself in every city,
or gaze at the stars from every corner of the earth,
I can't walk every road, follow every dream,
or chase after every version of the life I could have lived,
I can't taste every dish, experience every culture,
or dance to the rhythm of every heart in the world,
I can't meet every soul, listen to every story,
or love and be loved by all, and the more I wish,
the more I realize how beautiful this tragedy is—
life is too short and I am just one person,
a universe of unfulfilled desires, a dreamer caught in limits,
in a world of infinite possibilities, where time is never enough,
and every choice is an untold story, a melody that remains silent.
