Ross
Those endlessly dark COVID unit days
Once lead my emotions and mental state astray
Finally finding solace in online games
For some crumbs of joy from day to day
It was there I met a brand new friend
Who got me through till winters end
His words, thoughts and intentions were true
His music and laughter transforming my blues
For years after gaming, Our friendship lived on
To nights of sharing and moonlight talks
Advice was given and an ear for all
I began to realize, as He brought me to tears
I hadn't met a friend this Loving in years
I was hoping because we both were young
When He told me he was sick
That it wouldn't last long
I asked him why He didn't seek help
"I'm a lost cause " I suppose, was how He felt
For his body was tired though He was not old
When his Uncle found him and his body was cold
Now my heart hurts so deeply
As I picture my dear friend
Dying alone and in pain in his bed
Unable to reach or call for help
He did nothing but aid others
But could not for himself
It felt like I had known him deep down in my soul
I wish I could reach out and tell him that now
If I could talk to Ross just one more time
Who had no idea his life was way past it's prime
Id Thank him for all that He did for me
And I truly hope that his spirit finds peace
