Giving It All

I heard her say it clear and plain.
There were no present signs of pain.

She knew there was so much within,
sufficient to reach those without.

She gives her all, sharing with nothing to gain.
She finds them as they are, both the near and
the far, but never leave them the same.

She is like none that I have known.
She makes everyone feel right at home.

She believes that Earth is a place of test,
and that heaven is the place for rest.

At first, I thought so little of it; so less.
I must confess that I did not think it best.

But I knew that trying to change her would
only engender protest. So, in my heart I wanted
to cry, but it was accepted and settled when
I heard her simply say, "I want to be tired
when I die".
