She Took the Bait
I was having a beer at the bar then she walked in
It was more of a strut with the sway of her hips.
Her ruby red lips were made for kissing
In the mirror behind the bar
I caught her looking at me and raised my glass.
She waited a while before she sat beside me.
She ordered whiskey, neat
Smelled like lavender and honey and I'd bet money
she'd talk to me before I'd say a word to her.
I thought - 'which of us is using the best bait.'
I got a nibble when she asked what I was drinking.
I turned my head but all I said was, 'a cold one.'
Her great big gorgeous green eyes
would've caught me if I was a fish.
"Don't talk much, do you? Or maybe you have 'issues."
She questioned my "manhood."
I stood to adjust my pants and her eyes bit my fly.
I told her, "My eyes are up here."
She smiled as I reeled her in.
