Why Did He Do It?
Of Johnny Appleseed,
Two things we know.
He loved apples and walked alone.
For fifty some years he roamed the prairie.
He carried his seeds,
Planting them where no apples had grown.
Why did he do it?
No one really knows.
Me thinks he was a recluse at heart,
one that simply loved the taste of apples.
Note: September 26th is Johnny Appleseed Day. Honor him and eat a cold, crisp apple.
