WE SAW LONDON WE SAW FRANCE
A 22 hour trip home from London…gave us time to sit back, smile and unwind
and think about all the memories we made…while still fresh within our minds.
Yes, we saw London and Paris with our family…fell in love with England and with France.
and yes, we ate our way across two countries…and Deborah even bought a pair of pants.
Yes, we spent a wonderful time with our family…and now that our trip is done…
we get celebrate our new experiences, our knowledge gained…
and the times we just had fun.
But there are some things I noticed…no matter what country we are in
that I would like now to proclaim:
the sky the rivers…the clouds the trees in all countries…look the same.
And despite our different clothing, religious beliefs and languages…we all share a link…
for we are all human being and thus…we are more similar than we think
Our dogs all bark in the same language…people are more than willing to help one another…
it’s in our DNA
Pregnant women all over the world glow…and rub their tummies the same way.
No one seemed to care about the gender of the person next to them…
If they were LGBTQ+…a woman or a man….
and nothing makes thousands of people swoon faster than a sky filled with fireworks can.
Brothers and sisters fight with one another no matter where we roam
and parents get frustrated with their children in London and Paris…just like they do back home.
We’ve also noticed everyone laughs, cries, smiles and loves…in exactly the same way
and there is a caring and a kindness in the world…we saw it everyday!
Which gives us hope for the future of our planet…
Hope that this latest roadblock to world happiness…we will weather…
if all the people who care for one another rise up and come together…
To evict our leaders who solve problems with hate and guns and war
To look after and accept each other…to feed and clothe the poor…
Yes, wouldn’t it be wonderful if to augment our memories of our time in England and in France
we added memories like these….
Which would allow us time to sit back, smile and unwind…when we are much older
and all we have left…are all our memories.
