Poetry Soup 101
First make your base using all the pages
of your poetry submissions.
Simmer 20 years or so
or until your first acceptance.
Add the vowels one at a time
(and maybe Y but prob'ly not).
Use A B C to make it thinner;
X and Z to make it thicker.
Adjectives are to your taste;
adverbs may make a waste.
Serve it up with old-fashioned pen and ink,
or avant-garde with electric links.
...and for desert a simple pie
up in the sky where poems die,
filled with the editors and 'zines
that just say no while you wait for yes!
