Navigating the Treacherous Waters of Office Politics
In office halls, where silhouettes loom,
Beware the boss who calls you aside to manipulate,
A trap awaits, where whispers seal your destiny,
Keep colleague woes locked deep, an unspoken weight.
Security's helping hand may hold a test,
Expectation's seed, in every coin you nest,
Proximity breeds contempt, a subtle art,
One day's omission, and you're branded apart.
Close friendships forged in workplace fires,
May burn with hidden desires,
The overly friendly, a snake in disguise,
Tread carefully, lest their venom compromise.
The faith-hopping crowd, a problematic horde,
From prayer house to juju priest, their allegiance twisted,
Tattletales weave webs of deceit and anguish,
Revealing secrets, a poisonous echo.
The envious gaze, a threat to your very core,
Beauty, brains, and brawn, a target to abhor,
Jealousy's sting, a subtle, insidious creep,
Resign or beware, lest your soul seep.
The nosy, the fearful, the complainers too,
A toxic brew, best avoided, altogether,
Recorded words, a snare to entrap,
Choose wisely, lest your words come back to snap.
The friend you bring, a wolf in sheep's disguise,
May turn the tables, with cunning, compromising eyes,
The boss's liking, a subtle, hidden test,
Avoid the favored one, lest your career find no rest.
