Heartbreak's Redemption
In the garden, penumbra deep,
A heart so heavy, it could not sleep.
Betrayed by those He came to save,
A love so pure, it could not cave.
Upon the cross, His arms spread wide,
In our place, crucified.
The nails of heartbreak held Him there,
A burden of sorrow, too great for us to bear.
For every tear, for every sin,
He bore the anguish deep within.
His heart so torn, it split in two,
For His love of me, for His love of you.
He taught, “A broken heart can still forgive,”
And, “By way of the Cross, love does live.”
With His final breath, He cried loud and clear,
“It is finished,” thundered across every ear.
