Gift of the sun chaser

Mankind, once a wonderful creation favored above the rest.
Was given a perfect planet, and told to try their best.
They gave their word of honor, and so the pact was made.
But as promises were broken, the stars began to fade.

Too proud to ask forgiveness, mankind continued to lie.
And smothered by the darkness, the sun began to die.
As light gradually disappeared the world became bitterly cold. And those few who remembered its warmth were slowly growing old.

Afraid its memory would be forgotten they told stories to their young, and when these men grew strong enough they sought to find the sun. Their journeys were not easy, their roads were rough and long. But they always continued forward driven by their songs.

They sung about the colors those brilliant golden rays, the glory of the past. When nights would turn to days. They sung that no fire could ever burn as bright, and that its warmth and heat would never compare to lights.

So through their songs and travels faith and hope was shared, and God looked down and smiled. Because he saw they cared. He could'nt punish everyone for the bad most men had done. So the darkness once again was parted, revealing the glorious sun.

Those few who left to chase the light, returned as wise old men. They prophesied of children born, who would carry the sun's light within. Since those days the world's grown colder, and the sun's not quite as bright.

So gather together all sun chasers to illuminate the skies.
One by one the stars are returning, filling the heavens above. Because that gift within each sun chaser that is shared. Is the ever burning gift of love.
