Competitive Campaigning Results Are In

Joy for me means that

You are here where I once sat

Clutching the reigns

Playing political games

Taking over my tasks

Saying ‘I am not wearing any deceptive masks’

Making decisions

Moving into position

No longer in a hurry

I do not worry

Since I had nothing to bury

I told the truth

When things hit the roof

Reality came showing fall out

Leaving people to shout

Joy for means that

You are sitting where I once sat

Cooling the heat

Reclining in the hot seat

Doing my beat

Claiming I was a cheat

Go ahead you sit there

Do not look like you have a scared

Are you ready and prepared?

Realizing it is now all your affair

Getting the power play chair

Such a dare

Strategized by your pair

Joy for me means that

You sit where I once sat

Choked up on the bat

Ready to hit the home run

Since this competition you won

Here I go

With what I know

Shall I take in an entertainment show

While at the party you will glow

And in a couple of years

You will be the one in tears

While I chat it up at the local pub having beers

Enjoying the scene having nothing to fear

Watching you take the press club spear

After being hunted down like a defenseless deer

Am I afraid to lose

Is that what you accuse?

I have here this stage

Maturity living out my adult age

A podium to protect me

Which you all could see

Asking if I am afraid to lose

Hearing the protest and boos

Knowing what I have done

Seemingly having too much fun

Now today

I must say

My competitor used the event

That I spent

Inside my public servant office tent

To make me look bad

Desperate and sad

Listening to the complaints

From those denouncing ‘I am a saint’

Challenging the one who did paint

My portrait

On the wall it fit

Waiting to have a neighbor

Image has the likeness to my invader

Tell me if I lose

Are you going to accuse?

The new one everyone decided to choose

Or are you going to refuse

The winner whose

Ready to lose

Since I am not afraid

Of not making the grade

Instead, I will be proud of what I made

Not allowing a trade

That would result in the raid

Being defeated

Now kindly beat it

This issue needs not to be repeated

Instead

It is dead

That is what I said

Now put your story to bed
