"oh the Banjos"

Oh the banjos old sang o'themselves,
Or so it to us did seem.
Oh those pickers did as best could be,
As hands so flew fast free.

Oh the banjos old sang o'themselves,
As danced all in the hall.
Yet those who chose did sing along,
Of broken hearts... so softly held in song.

Oh those banjos sung so o'themselves,
Through misty morn' 'til night,
While that guitar's song followed 'long,
All fiddles thrice as strong.

Oh the banjos old... never laid to rest,
As time is wont to do... her oh so ever best.
Thus mountain folk oft heard of spoke,
O'those banjos sung forever... and only o'themselves.
