You Look Amazing
This is going to sound weird
But pretend like your Jesus Christ.
Pretend like no one knows how to act accordingly.
Do not scold them.
Do not to shame them.
Do not bring up any negativity whatsoever.
Totally hard, I get it, not easy impostering as JC,
I've been doing it for 45 years!
Model the behavior you wish to see.
You don’t want them to yell at you?
You don’t want them to argue with you?
You don’t want them to
(Oh-no-here’s-the-big-one-how-dare-they-right?)
Disrespect you?
Then don’t yell at them.
Don’t argue with them.
Do not disrespect them.
Don’t get into some pride-busting vagaries
Of when disrespectful behavior
May or may not have occurred.
Use a muscle you may or may not have,
Embody the example of how to behave.
Change will occur. Change will start.
Simply cuz you broke the behavior chain of:
Them reinforcing your inappropriate behavior,
You reinforcing their inappropriate behavior,
Yelling, arguing, power struggles into the hills…
But I’m not gonna end my poem there.
I’m all about positivity.
You look amazing today.
