60th Alumni Meeting
From bygone years, I met a face unknown,
Yet something in him felt like coming home.
My heart, once heavy, found its lighter tone,
For in his eyes, a warmth began to roam.
With smiles that bloomed like flowers in the spring,
Laughter bubbled up, a joyful song.
Time stood still, as if on gentle wings,
Together, we could never be alone.
Within the walls of college campus embrace,
We spent four years in learning and in play,
Esteemed professors guiding every pace,
Sweet memories of those golden days.
When darkness came, a steady hand would guide,
I found a friend who stood by every side.
Disagreements came, but honesty prevailed,
We grew together, strong and intertwined,
Our bond, though tested, never once derailed,
In each other's flaws, a grace we’d find.
The years flew by, but distance mattered not,
Our friendship grew, with every moment shared,
In joy, in pain, in every little thought,
We found a love that always would be there.
But now, as age begins to slow our pace,
With all of us in mid-80s' gentle range,
Will we be here to meet in future days?
It feels like we’re approaching that vanishing point,
Where only the glory of friendship remains,
A timeless bond that no age can erase.
