Ten Thousand Feet

Ten Thousand Feet

Have you ever had a snowball fight

Shorts, feet naked in cold snow,

Mid July?

Unexpected island of white surrounded

By endless hues, tiny alpine flowers

Cupped in the palm of the great grey Grand Tetons.

Thin air made it a short lived delight… at the time.

The dissonance of it, joy, the magic of the moment

Live through a lifetime of passing seasons.
