The brightly colored houses lighten my emotions.
The cobblestone streets encourage by shaking the worries away.
A town on the ocean's edge, aware of the power of nature
yet at peace. Time undulates and ebbs with the tide as life is carefree.
Historic restoration, reminds us that living has not changed really.
Life, birth, death and taxes continue along with joy and sickness.
Passion and love are old as time. The river meets the ocean and the ocean never
overflows. Seagulls and pelicans stay by the salty spray; dining each day on fresh
seafood. Seagulls run and play on the sand dunes for fun.
Tourists come and go leaving behind a few dollars to keeps the town thriving.
The tall tales grow each year for pure pleasures sake. It is alright with me,
charming stories make my return more interesting. There is a melody of enjoyments to be had in the city by the sea.
For Charles Melody
Undiscovered ancient knowledge
Of the origins
Of all that breaths
Of starlit travelers
Who made their home in the Sea.
Sharks and whales
Who never sleep
Protecting them from all that’s unsafe.
Thus this wisdom
Buried deep below forever
Will be shared with others those
Who are chose to know.
Ocean violet
Sunny life
Waves crash through
The sunlight warp of time
Eternal mother
Water- womb of life
Radiant azure smile heal
Breath in my salty haze.
But, deep beneath my ocean dark
Lies treachery beyond your scope
For hidden
In passages and secret tombs
Waters of the ocean
The water of my mind
Flying high in dreamland
There’s nothing left to find
Ocean blue
Ocean green
All and all a happy scene
Beach ball buddies
Sunscreen tans
Sparkling sand castles
It’s everybody’s dream!
I stand in the center of an ocean of wheat,
shimmering from the wind like ocean waves.
The clouds, the sky, the sun, the colors of the fields
and the touch of the warm gentle breeze.
The wild flowers and trees bordering the land,
the red earth blowing with the wind.
The sound of water from nearby streams,
ease life’s burdens away in a flash.
The vast openness of distant horizons,
as the gold heads rattle with the wind.
The red-tailed hawks squawk in the sky,
the sand-hill cranes head for a pond.
The cows graze on lush green beauty,
as I stand in a field with pen in hand.
This is the beauty I am blessed with,
whether my eyes are closed or open.
