Maybe it was that last biscuit layered with butter and jam
or could it have been those sodas only around nine cans
Never just one bucket of extra crispy southern fried chicken
could make you feel bloated and heading to the can
Never those mashed potatoes or drinking gravy from a cup
probably that single green bean when I knew I had enough
Ears and ears of corn so sweet and buttery to the taste
curly fries drowned in ketchup smeared all over my face
Only a couple wedges of corn bread heavy with butter
and that macaroni and cheese just one serving than another
Fried okra and cabbage with lots of bacon and diced ham
those savory baked beans swimming in molasses man oh man
And a pitcher of brewed sweet ice tea with sugar from sugar cane
now using artificial sweeteners or corn syrup would be insane
And for dessert a hot Dutch apple pie with ice cream a la mode
capped off with chocolate syrup mixed in that hot cup of joe
Such a light lunch so why do I feel so overstuff
that extra large pizza for dinner will just have to be enough.

When hosting on Thanksgiving Day,
I worry there won’t be enough
For it’s the American way,
On holidays, to overstuff.
If I were alone with my spouse,
We’d eat a few bites and be full
But when there are guests in our house,
I give in to anxiety’s pull.
Should I run to buy more at the store
Or stop fretting and try to relax?
It won’t be many hours before
All the company will have made tracks.
What’s the worst that can happen, I think –
There’ll be talk that we needed more food
But perhaps with a bit more to drink
We’ll all be in that holiday mood.

People tell me I'm not good enough
People tell me I'm worthless
People tell me to just get overstuff
So what is my purpose?
This is normal to me
This is nothing new
This is the part where you are supposed to flee
So what is the today going to brew?
I stand here feeling all alone
I stand here quietly thinking
I stand here emotionless without a home
So what is it ma'am, you are drinking?
Is it the smooth taste of my breaking heart
Is it the firey taste of your selfish words
Is it the clean taste of you attempting your fresh start
So what is so absurd?
My thoughts are a tidal wave of emotions
My thoughts are an endless black hole
My thoughts cause all of this useless commotion
So what is it exactly you stole?
You stole my childhood
You stole my pride
You stole my sanity
You stole my adulthood
You stole my stride
So what makes me wait so anxiously?
The fear of you.

I am not trying to call your bluff
But it's funny stuff is fluff
It's very much like love
Sometimes soft, sometimes tough
It's always on one's cuff
Can be hard to try shake off
Under or overstuff
Its too much or not enough
Fluff and love
Love and fluff

If I could live under the sea
I would marry my sweet mermaid Shelly
Oh how happy the two of us would be
Swimming forever in the deep blue up to the brimme
The fish would wish they could be us
For we could survive in sea to shore
The world be our oyster overstuff
With pearls her I adore
Sunken treasures of the past
We could explore but ignore
Our love enough for us to last
For free is the sea forever more
Choral gardens rich in life
Colors glow from sunbeams light
Ride the waves no worries or strife
Moonbeams spiral into our night
With a roof of water over our heads
Safe from storms let them blow
Huddle and cuddle in the octopus's bed
Asleep to dreams that flow
The shark's all bite, the whale has tales
The otters play, the crabs are crabby
The dolphins laugh, the old squid smells
The penguins dance, the walrus is flabby
The seals bark, the eels glow
The shrimps are shrimps, the seagull steals
The lobster diets, the seahorse was rode
And the porpoises were all pale
Just a day benaeth a wave
For my Sweet Shelly and me
Happy to be married to a meramid
With baby mermaid soon to be
