Twilight had never felt so ominous
An eerie feeling seeped into my soul
The ancient castle was overpoweringly creepy and grotesque.
There was a predatory air about it
I felt that it held corpses of howling, keening victims.
Such bleakness filled my heart, I could barely take another step
My companion whispered “You are on your own now”
Terrifying me, even further. I turned, but he was gone.
I heard whimpers now, which turned into crying and keening.
Night was rapidly turning into a devil’s cloak.
There was no other shelter, and it felt like vampires were about
Thus, I took another step toward my hellish destiny.
The devil himself would be afraid of this place.
I walked up the steps of the castle hearing a creaking
Which I knew was my heart, dying a little with each step.
Something unseen was waiting at the door.
I could feel it; there was a blatant despicableness
And an anger. It was pure evil; I have never felt so threatened.
The door opened.
The choice was mine.
