It's three a.m and I'm in bed
Lots of thoughts fill my head
I've tried to sleep but I cannot
I just toss and turn a lot
Even if my eyes I close
I cannot sleep I cannot doze
I could get up and watch TV
Or read a book or make some tea
I've heard it said if you count sheep
You will drift right off to sleep
But that didn't work for me
I was still awake at five hundred and three
Now my clock tells me its four
I really cannot take much more
I have to go to sleep again
Now outside I can hear rain
The pitter patter on the pane
The soothing rhythm of the rain
Makes me feel safe and warm in here
My troubled thoughts just disappear
Now I feel morphias warm embrace
The tension slowly leaves my face
All my troubles fade away
And I'll sleep sound till break of day
