Moray Eel Poem Example

Fending Off The Bends

Sinkin' down too low
Comin' up too quick
Swallowed in the undertow
Nitrogen in blood think I'm gettin' sick

No help
from my buoyancy compensator
Wrapped up in the kelp
as if waving see ya later

N' I wanna breathe but there's no air
left in my tanks
Wanna ride the crest of the waves
into your sweet sand banks

Fending off the bends
Fending off the bends
Fending off the bends
This time sure I'm closer to the end
Fending off the bends
Fending off the bends
Fending off the bends
Seems like I'm always on the mends

If i could just bask
in your decompression chamber
Really like to ask
for just one more pressin' favor

The weight of the ocean lays
heavy on me in layers
So do the fate of our cunning plays
N' dispensible are the willing players

Sinkin' down real fast
Ascendin' way too quick
Just one more oxygen blast
Think I could rise out of the thick

I'm a shark on menacing legs
not a Navy Seal
Seeking dark crevices
like a slimy Moray eel

Fending off the bends
Fending off the bends
Fending off the bends
Upstairs Hope'll be sayin'
one for all my friends.
