Thales the monist
(But Phales first)
Anaxamander's apeiron
Bound by Thales's thirst
Aristotle's forms are particular
He found Plato forms peculiar
A dualistic idealist
Mathematically sure
(Or so he thought)
and no one bought
Pythagoras's mysticism
Mathematical or not
And then there's Kant
A metaphysical agnostic
Hume's empiricism
Is left to criticism
And Barkley left a theological veneer
On a history of philosophy so *****
Leaving no one to know for sure
We'll God knows, and knows why
He doesn't discover anything new
He doesn't learn anew or is surprised
(So if your tempted to call it Murphy's Law)
Call on Him the Original Know-It-All

Gurudev-My Master(HH Swami Chinmayanand ji Maharaj)
He is meditating peacefully on his Self
In the lap of the lofty Dhauladhar peaks
Blessing and comforting all the sadhakas
Taking care of devotees and sincere seekers.
He is firmly established in the supreme Truth
He is the epitome of knowledge of the Brahman
He spreads it amongst multitudes of men
Across the globe with affection and concern.
He is an incomparable Vedantin extra ordinary
In him the Upanishads found a noble missionary
His inimitable style of teaching is unmatched
He is an Acharya genuinely divine indeed.
He is a Majestic Monist with love unbound
His lucid teaching has widely awakened
An understanding of the true nature of one’s Spirit
Our salutations, salutations, salutations to him!
Glories to my Gurudev,
who kindles the quest for the highest knowledge
and longing for the highest love.
