The Merovingian Kings of Gaul
Were once a mighty kingdom
That stood above the rest so tall
Germans displaced and defeated
Were given many rules
Along with a divided leader to be seated
Constitutional rights and lives alike
Were spent readily
To prevent a terrible strike
United they stood and lands acquired
People running away
From the demands they required
Settled now in a beautiful place
Safe from their demise
Who knew it was to be a long and lasting chase
From there they fled to another land
More beautiful then the last
But once more came storming in the past
One by one they came to our newly found shelter and grew
With plans in hand
For yet another siege, generations in the future, that we never knew
Now as they stomp across the desert for all to see,
Blood spilling the whole way
Does this really make us free?
Or have we run out of places to hide
Kept running
As the innocent sat and sighed.
When does this chase end
And at what point
Does an enemy become a friend?
