Medicant!
Smooth velvet drapes
on a silken skin
Soothing evening operas;
tonic to thirsty tongues.
Tranquil!
Calm as sea breeze
Soporific lullaby sung
from the
lips of unseen spirits
Drapes of solitude
Cooing
Whispers of words.
Surreal!
Enternity-still nights in
silent neighborhoods
Coy coiling coils
Seeping stillness
Silence!
Aching passion that yearns to be shown
Words that beg to be spoken
Hands that reach out to touch an invisible face
Symptoms of my incurable sickness
Letting go each and every day
Struggling through the far-reaching hours
Bravely trying to make it through
Separations manifested by time
Needs that burn up my soul
Desires that rage through my being
Hunger that ends in starvation
Side-effects of this unending illness
Blind and deaf, dumb and mute
Going without the cure
I need the medicant only you can provide
So through this sickness I can endure
