This One Is Mine, Part Ii

..Nobody in that neighborhood
knew what happened to those three,
but they all scoffed in disgust
when Neal staggered high down the street.
He had been in and out for drugs
two times in the last three years,
so when he fell again to them
nobody was shedding any tears.
Then the trench-coat man appeared,
two bloodless holes in his hands,
there was Holy Fire in his eyes
as he looked down at the stoned man,
He glanced to the disgruntled crowd,
“Did you think I was something malign?
All need, at time, My forgiveness,
do not fear, this one is Mine.”

At that three people left a car
and walked over to where Neal lay,
Andre was ten whole months sober,
at a charity earned his pay.
Luisa wore a nun’s habit,
and raised orphans as her own.
Karzel now worked in an auto shop,
doing bills and answering phones.
They helped Neal up to his feet,
said,”We known where you can get help.
Nothing ahead will be easy,
but we all think you can get well.”
As they drove off the crowd looked back,
but no trench-coat man could they find,
half wondered if he’d ever been there,
half thought he had been the whole time.

In Old California 4

Hernandez's Christian name is Jose Sor
and brother's Christain name is Miquel Rey.
Don Miquel owns Rancho San Luis Ore
and steer did gore Don Miquel's face one day.
The horn left deep scar wounding cheek bad way.
His tenper's mean and matches gore's red flame.
Cross Miquel Rey and you'll rue great that day.
Man's anger's given Miquel one bad name.

Don Miquel's wife's petite with huge round eyes
big like to saucers; eyes dislike to smile.
Her pleasure's scolding maids with angry cries,
deception's always goad to raise her bile,
not having use, and hating those with guile.
Her name is Dona Thresa Luisa Share,
and ruling Ore's house maids does show her style -
up each dawn morning's light with load of care.

Interlude with Ana Luisa

I hold you closely in my arms
I feel your soft breathing within
While little curls touch my skin—
Soft brownish gold under my chin
I hold you near my little charm

Together we look to the sky
Counting the stars; one, two, three, four;
You sit quietly admiring more
And, I know what I am here for
Bonding, my granddaughter and I

You dance your way into my heart—
Singing angelic tunes, you ruled
Turning simple into jewels
Winding joy onto my heart-spool;
I hold you closely – soon we’ll part
