I See You, Mary Lee

I am often underused and often underestimated
a zing of a thing that often goes unheard, unseen
ginger beer is a tonic unlike me it can't be grated
a powerful root so astute, they bring from overseas

The captain gives his orders but I see you Mary Lee
sitting in your cabin drinking tea and writing poetry
flotsam and jetsam are marked on the ship, but me
I float above the rest and so I heal you, Mary Lee

The imp skipped merrily hugging his Jack Daniel
the sun was too hot so he knocked on every door
looking for a bed for him and his invisible Faneuil
she opens it a peep and finds him on the floor

Mr. Gargoyle tie askew in dire need of ginger root
"Oh Dear!" says Miss Lee, your drunk but very cute.

Premium Member mamas pies

mama’s pies were the best around
her crust was flaky and sugary
no one could bake a pie like she

she never baked a pie
she always baked three or four
I guess she only knew how to make lots of crust

there was enough left to sugar and cinnamon
for my sister and brother and I
she baked that on a cookie sheet and it was delicious!

her lemon meringue was a delicacy about which I still salivate
hot rhubarb pie with a tangy zesty zing, oh, my,
she could bake a terrific pie!

her pudding pies were enormously successful
she dolloped whipped cream on those.
I have not had a good pie since she left this earth.

Looking forward to more of mom’s pies in heaven
one of these days

Premium Member You Are the Reason

God, can we say hallelujah
When you are the reason for being and living?
You are the reason why our lives are so free of disturbances
The evil one cannot touch us
You are the reason why we are smiling and laughing
Free of disturbing thoughts, unwelcomed emotions
You are the center for us
Can we say bless you God
When you are the reason of us enjoying our zing?
You give life because you are life
You give us spark Lord
A meaning
God You are so spectacular
Superb, breathtaking, extravagant
That we can’t behold You Lord
Lord You are beyond measurable
Beyond greatest, mind-blowing
Lord You are sooooooooo
God Halleluyah
Can we say YOU RULE?
YOU RULE FATHER
Yeayyyyyy!!
And You are in our corner
Praise You God
Exalt You God
Magnify You God
Worship YOU

Nobel Lionized Matriarchy

Freely forming metrical mainstays
poetic occasion to phrase
the fairer and gentler sex,
thus the following turns of phrase
to bestow acknowledgement

regarding wonderful wise ways
of collective she who assays
to create safe/secure home/ hearth
as bedrock and fount of ample
maternal duties tiredly sashays

with keeping house receiving praise
the second Sunday each May, her
tired body sprawled on chaise
lounge, perhaps basking in solar rays
communing with Gaia, who whiz
bruiting with sky goddess

defying forecasters prediction, no slate grays
pose dampening effect on huzzahs
regaling torchbearer diploid as amaze
zing newlife, where loving labor pays
more than fine spun gold cherishing
offspring in her nurturing ways.

Paean dutiful daily deference, I dole
ensconced with pineapple getup
surfing the cyber sea, this hyperbowl
lee, yet deserved dignity deifying dames,
who bear brunt whole
ding potent biological reproductive role

de facto duty honorably decreed
tribute paid despite commercialized
money making hyped up rigamarole,
nonetheless yours truly accentuates sole
sans, progenitor of human race
saddled with disproportionate/ unfair toll.

Zebra lines, black and white, in stark contrast,
          mirrors the play of life,
      since neither pain nor joy does last;
                    why for then strife?

Hush the blush dear soul, there’s no need to rush,
          blossom like a flower,
      as pheromones mingle and gush
                    thus, hour by hour.

Let not zig zag patterns of illusion
          bemuse our lower mind.
      As spirit free from delusion,
                    choose pathways kind.

Death Jars, Nixes, and Rattles Mine Sense and Sensibilities

Father now journeys
into afterlife destination alone,
October 7th, 2020 mid afternoon
with Earthlings ministration did attone
where night envelops his lovely bones
rendered devoid of any groan
courtesy Roxanol (morphine)
and Ativan finding him prone

to experience painlessness, and no
his dying wish, plus last will and testament
won't include burial and/or headstone
cuz, he wants to integrate and did intone
cremation as ecologically friendly option
scattering ashes to parts known
someday... yours truly will too
succumb to the dead zone.

Stark reminder to live fully an urgent yen
to live life fullest between now and when...
ever yours truly exits
stage door left, perhaps ten
twenty, thirty... eighty, ninety, one hundred...
additional orbits around sun

a remarkable human phenomenon
(me) courtesy mine burning ken
bequeaths modest minute man
near accursed immortality longevity totaling even
score of years counting (crows)
and father time among his brethren.

Distress unavoidable which mortality doth bring
nevertheless, tis impossible mission
to eradicate pain and suffering, which doth sting
consolation assuages grief, viz prayer
and buttressing coping with spiritual wing
profound absence augments biting zing.

Biological reproduction begetting offspring
lodging within uterine abode
subsequent in utero development
regarding accretion embryonic node
biological algorithm doth automatically encode,
nevertheless longevity invariably affected
no doubt courtesy lifestyle mode.

Random crapshoot luck of the draw offspring born
genetic blueprints also decree existence transient
parents emphatically teach progeny
got no choice must inform

daughter(s), and son(s) ineluctably forsworn
demise bound with birth certificate presents horn
of dilemma conscious the next generation
granted only so many Earth orbitz around sun.

Once grim reaper deftly
communicates I must bid adieu
eternal hasta la vista to kith and kin
please don't shed a tear for generic
germane admirable bad company crew
member, albeit healthy as an ox
never got the flu,

an atheist doubting thomas
though genealogy records
incorporate many a cynical Jew
at least one legendary antiestablishmentarian
gleaned within mine purview
shunned, ostracized and banished to Xando.

Premium Member To which image should we cling

"We have been here a thousand times before"
Praying for world peace, or the end of war

"Memory erased, each time we begin anew"
PRIEZ POUR NOUS QUI AVONS RECOURS À VOUS

"Of hands held tenderly, we’ve lost the score"
Rosaries repeat His Peace we beg for

"Each embrace virgin like fresh morning dew"
Heaven's prayer-roses of Grace will accrue

"To which image, oh dear soul, should we cling"
Which Immaculate face lets our heart sing

"For each heart was at some point of time dear"
Trust her intercession, said each seer

"As we flow through life with zest, zeal and zing"
Let Blessed Mary's hand guide our heart string

"In all forms we see God’s presence appear”
His Life-span of Mysteries made crystal clear

QUEEN OF SEASONS

Spring, the queen of seasons steps in.
       Entrance on elegance with sheen,
       stitching luminous lace to glow.
        Ambient gleams in frolic flow.

Splendid Spring is trove of treasure.
      Abloom blossoms bringing pleasure.
      Dry leaves already to escape
Glossy leaf-buds try to take shape.

Spring aspiring zest, zeal and zing.
Symphony of cheers as birds sing.
      Dulcet sunshine in cheerful charm
      Sky in delighted decorum.

Dislodged petals chased by Spring gust.
Pollen in air whirling with dust.
    Zephyr kissing leaves to shiver.
Eager heart wants to be giver.

   Floating romantic aroma
    in flowery panorama.
     Spring resonating in amour
     with gorgeous graceful glamour.

Spring in Nature, Spring in my mind
   Lost forgotten love to rewind.
   Resurrection of warmth from cold.
Wish something to tell still untold.

Premium Member Ragdoll In the Closets Magic Shoes

Ragdoll in the Cupboard has invented a magic shoe.
It’s dancing, it is jazzy, it calls to me and you.
It is sassy and smart, it is wise beyond the moon.
Buying a pretty pair of these means you are no buffoon.

She is lavender, she is purple, she sparkles just so.
If you have two of them on your feet, you will start to glow.
She is a shoe that will make your heart laugh and sing.
Doll in the Cupboard has invented a shoe with a zing.

She will bring you confidence, she will bring you love.
When you get her, you will thank the shoemakers above.
She was inspired by the best, and she will show you a great time.
No, you cannot have these. These magic shoes are mine.

“All that is, is a splash in the ocean ~
Why for then needless thought flow commotion”
~ quote by poet

Seeking God's love and light, heart's yen for zen,
          cajoles us to listen
to soul's whispers before we pen,
                    words that glisten.

Dropping narrow thought, we’re in prayer mode,
          as ego fades away
and love beats in our heart's abode,
                    throb every day.

In an aspect of embrace and release,
          intuitive recall
empowers mind that flows with ease,
                    in a bliss squall.
