Beauty Within the Beast

Once upon a time, beyond societies portrayal,
There lived a beast of harmony, and a lie he would not tell,
Full of love and divinity, yet sadness dwelled within,
This beast was kind, he wanted peace, just wanted to fit in.
But waking days, were not astray, of mountainous abuse,
Mobs with pitchforks, nasty words, they spewed their vile views,
His nappy hair, his fangs and ears, brought him pointed stares,
Provoked by words, tormenting gestures, and many frightened glares.

Until one day, he said no more, pain will this beast take,
He stayed indoors, and never left, his heart was cold and ached,
On the floor, devoid of warmth, a stranger to this place,
His mighty body shook and shivered, tears fell from his face.
Do my looks; absolve my right, to live, my right to be,
I'm not aloud, to wonder round, to live amongst society,
Do I not cry; when I am pained, bleed when I am pricked,
You mock me with, your judging eyes; a monster is your verdict?

I am saddled, with this curse, I'm nature's dirty secret,
How The Fates, have cursed on me, no longer can I take it,
Then suddenly, a flash and bang, an angel then appeared,
She wore a gown, held out a wand, and had a halo in her hair.
I'm your fairy godmother, your pain I'll take away,
The path I show, is based on faith, so follow what I say,
Go on a journey, traveling north, beyond the fiery trees,
You'll find a castle, made of glass, and the knowledge that you seek.

For countless days, he traveled north, all around the earth,
Illusions came, to mystify, and test him in his worth,
Self belief, propelled him as, he reached his destination,
He went inside, yet found nothing, this filled him with frustration.
You surrendered to me as, you made your fateful way,
Now here you stand, before my eyes, a voice began to say,
Stand before the mirror beast, ask what you desire,
Behold the truth, the inner you, the knowledge you require.

Mirror mirror reveal to me, the true beauty inside of me,
The surface glistened; a picture beamed, and a beast he did not see,
The beast fell down, on hands and knees; and did nothing but cried,
He said Who I am is not the flesh, I’m the light that's deep inside.

(Dedication: For Michael Zachary, my son)

Sense this knowing: can the blind see?
Homer still sings fond tragedy.

Troy was a thought where siege was laid,
A war well fought as heroes paid.

Love and hate doomed to mortal rage,
Ten years once groomed that fatal stage.

Such fine faces like Archilles,
Hector traces with Odysseus.

Proud Agamemnon did hoard the sands,
Trojans beyond the high walls grand.

King Priam spied Greeks' battle scream,
Aegean waves plied the battle scene.

The rise and fall of heroes there,
The bitter gall of curse and swear.

Both sides pitted to furious fights,
Even witted, no end in sight.

Clever tactics at Troy did sway,
Loss most drastic for each did stay.

So many years the battle raged,
Proud lives and tears on either page.

Weary battles and bloody mess,
Souls now brittle with sure duress.

So many dead in bloodied sand,
The feud most great in defiant stand.

Now crafty thought brought idea grand,
Odysseus's plot to win war's end.

A hollow horse as token gift,
A rousing toss for Troy's uplift.

Greek ships slipped round to hide away,
Vanished fleet found with deceit's play.

This cunning ruse worked with sure craft,
Troy seemed amused with hoarding draft.

Dragged the wood crypt within the walls,
Stupor and script tell of Troy's fall.

In dead of night when sleep wrought themes,
Greeks murdered fight in Trojan dreams.

Homer the blind brought us grand sights,
For here we find our saving light.

Now we can see the fight go on,
Harsh as can be here and beyond.

Wars and battles reveal who's slain,
Man's not gentle who lives harsh gain.

We think and speak to weave fashion,
Give in to streaks of ambition.

The hunter hunts the chase until,
The victim grunts to turn and kill.

Troy and her days remind us still,
Live truce that pays in wise goodwill.

What of Helen who is part myth?
Fond beauty turns a timely drift.

A lovely tale of human gore,
To now assail that love lives more.

Thus all the world remembers well:
Dear heroes swirl just where we dwell!

A Force of the Divine

Have you seen little floaters that drift in the sky?
They can be quite deceiving; they exist on our eye,
They’re black in the centers, Surrounded in white,
A scratch on the lenses, protecting the eye,
I’ve seen others beyond these, that dance and move free,
Could it be what I’m observing is divine energy?
From the rays of the moon, they’re produced overnight,
Charged up by the sun and dispersed throughout light,
To the trees and all nature, throughout all living things,
Do we play the lead role because we’re human beings?
Colors of purple, Neon and white,
Translucent by day, rarely seen in the night,
Are they just an illusion or simply just and divine?
Do they have an influence on the subconscious mind?
Why can I see them and what are they for?
As a creative distraction or to show us a door?
To a realm of existence, less explored by mankind,
Leaving secrets between shadows for all species to find,
Which leads me to believe that this force in disguise,
Has an influence great on the mind and its’ eyes,
Facilitating our evolution as we live life to learn,
How to live in the light, it's a right we must earn,
This existence is puzzling; the ultimate unspoken test,
Of our will to live righteous, of our desires to live blessed,
To believe there's no evil is to believe there's no light,
Yet the belief there exists nothing in my mind is not right,
Although this life we design is so hard to conceive,
If you give it some thought you might come to believe,
That a power exists here, a force of the divine,
A power that does work through the mysterious mind,
Yet these messages relayed on a subliminal level,
Are most times distorted through the works of the devil,
Yet that's a part of life’s battle in my mind there's no doubt,
That a duty of ours as humans is to help figure this out,
So take a look within yourself and maybe contemplate this,
For thy kingdom is amazing are you living its' bliss?

Sun Sonnet

The sun is ruler of our earthly realm.
O’er solar planets it maintains its reign,
each morning taking luminescent helm
for daily doings in our world’s terrain.
The varied rocky planets had a time
perhaps with weather mild, when water flowed,
where life might well have blossomed in their clime
upon an evolutionary road.
But neither orbits nor sun’s heat are set
for stars show spans of years by billions gauged
and globes which then could host a live vignette
shut down their stage as stellar sphere has aged…
   If other planets once had welcome air,
   what came to pass with any beings there?

Info ~ The Planets is a 2019 BBC/PBS television documentary series about the Solar System presented by Professor Brian Cox in the UK version and Zachary Quinto in the US version.

Info (UK version) ~ The Planets: This series brings to life the most memorable events in the history of the solar system, by using visual effects to tell the story of all eight planets. Transporting you to the surface of these dynamic worlds to witness the moments of high drama that shaped each one, The Planets reveals how the latest science allows us to unlock their past lives. It pieces together clues of lost waterfalls on Mars, the mass planetary migrations as they jostled for position early in their history, and even the distant fate of Saturn as one of its moons awakens to form a beautiful water world…

What Is Love?

How can I manage to screw things up so badly?
All you did for me,
Everything you put into our relationship,
I took for granted.

Now you sit in the hospital staring at those four walls,
Crying about how badly I treated you.
You thought I was everything in a man turns out that I’m nothing

Turn off the lights and close your eyes,
The only way you can’t see me.
I’ve infected your life with nothing but lies.
How can anyone survive that trauma?

Those 4 months weren’t all lies.
I meant when I stared into your eyes and said I love you.
So I thought it was love.
But who truly knows what love is?

I may have touched another girl’s body,
Did sinful things,
But you turn back to the one who did that several times.
Not only a few times,
But I have but more than that.
Then you say he loved you more.
How can I justify that?

Turn off the lights and close your eyes,
The only way you can’t see me.
I’ve infected your life with nothing but lies.
How can anyone survive that trauma?

If you were going to get someone to end my life,
I’d prefer to do it myself,
That way no one needs to suffer besides me.
No need to go to jail for something I can do.

Let me close my eyes one last time and keep them close,
Never to see sunlight again,
Never to hurt anyone again,
Never to see you face and the memories that scar me.

Universal Soldier Reality Creed

THIS is my Reality, There are many like it, but this one is
mine,
My Perceptions of it are my best friends and "enemies",
For this is my illusion...
... I must master the balance of my emotions,
My reality, without yours is useless, For lack of mine, yours
seems useless,
Thus inspiring coexistence,
I must evolve my reality anew,
I must shoot straighter than anyone whom conspires
against me,
I must bless ye, lest ye confuse me,
I WILL...
My allies and I realize that what counts on the subliminal
battlefield,
Are not the rounds fired or the smoke they create,
We understand that it is the hits that count.
We WILL win this war…
My reality is of my own design, JUST as I, therein is MY
conception,
Thus, I shall fear no “evil” along the path in the valley of
confusion...
I understand its’ weaknesses, it’s strengths, its strategies,
its accessories,
its sights and its intentions.
I will evolve my reality clean and ready, as I am clean and
ready.
Before God I swear this creed...
My perceptions of self are the defenders of my reality,
We are the masters of thine "enemy", We are the saviors
of mankind.
So be it, until the illusive veil of existence is drawn back
and thine "enemies" subside.

Courage to change the things I can

Heart knows fond place in soul's good time,
Opt to feel good with lavish cheer;
Moments of grace now match sure chimes,
Etch a warm mood that gathers here;

Charm wears a glow that happy tells,
Odd as brisk change that fashions ease;
Mind in deep flow where heart feels spell,
Ink well sweet range in thoughts of peace;

Note how you feel in surge of joy,
Glimpse in the light the poignant sight;
Love knows the thrill in poise and ploy,
Old yet new flights of sheer delight;

Voice in new dawn that precious peek,
Each brilliant hue of tender tints.
Now feel this morn as light streaks,
Oblige love's due in crystal mint;

Watch for the sign of bubbly zest.
Ask peace to scope most tender still,
Notch cheer in mind what faith knows best;
Dreams flavours hope in love's goodwill.

Here with fond smiles that touch most sweet,
End comes to start an awesome cheer;
Rush mellows style as welcome greets
Embrace dear heart profound feel here.

Moves in this world can strain and stress,
Etch in pure grace both kin and kind;
Endow crisp swirls to sync and bless,
Touch spurs each face with peace of mind.

In the clear light;
Faces share smiles,
Warm feelings style.

Just being here;

Visuals now greet;
For old time’s sake,
Cheers that we make.

Have a good trip,

Work smart fond feel,
Chalk up goodwill.

Blessings to each,
Seize ample reach;

With quest made good;

Mellow feels sweet.

So, here’s to you
Where fate funds cue;
