Premium Member Stay Away From Priscilla Jim Lee

That rodent is so odd, his brother told him.
Stay away from her, you might catch it, Jim.
Jim was a reader with his nose forever in a book.
He gave Priscilla a nod but not an interested look.

Priscilla caught his nod and was happy to see.
A bit of attention from one of the Brothers Lee.
Jim Lee was a catch, so she looked uninterested at all.
It was at this moment, Jim decided Priscilla was a doll.

They met in secret, cuddling up with their blanket and books.
The rest of their clans never noticed their secretive looks.
Their wedding was a surprise, but all attended for cheese.
Then they took a group photo where both clans yelled “Please!”

The Comedy House Ii: the Rats

Bewitched with irri-
tating glows,they ransacks the
purse and 'ijawo'; those rats!

Breaking news;
The Headline: "3 husky rats
ransacking the purse of the nation."
The news: As noted in the
headline of today's consciousness-leaking
news. We'll have to say this with
Annointed regret that 3 hoodlums
With pointed teeths had just robbed
the nation of a frugal amount
of papers. Hence, the federal
government had just concluded to
Deep their anxious hands into the
weeping purse of the nation, with regards to
buying a distilled insecticide
to eliminate the husky hoodlums.
Hence,the federal government has
taken '4 billion naira' to carry out
this operation,respecting the uninterested
interest
of the masses. Here is the news.
N.T.A 7:00pm. Deola......"

Prophesy has come to
pass. 'Ekule Ole' and cray fish
not worth than #5,000. When
mingled and moistured can
conspicously carry out the opera-
tion successfully. Then why
'4 billion naira?'- won't accept this
offer if to me offered.
Such amount for rats?........
Hmmm....these rats!

Who are these rats?-
Rats with two hands,two
eyes,two legs,a nose.
Rat whose glottis is active.
Full of themselves,claiming rights
Graced with deceptive life swimming
and vividly drown in ocean of lies.

These rats!
Leaves their abode at
mid-day,travels to other
forests to hunt riches.
Hunt?..... No!, squander the
riches they've gotten from
the purse of their masters- suffering
masters.
After showcasing their wealth
In those forest. Then,they'll
saunter back into
the waiting cupboard and steal
'Meats from pots', 'Eat some part of
the bread- they're already satisfied'.
They'll resume their usuall relay.
And return the same circle.

Maybe you know those rats.
Those rats on Agbada-mehn!
Driving luxurious jeeps,living
in braw duplexes bewitched with
fumming air conditioners.
Those rats that are always hungry-
contending for post and Ranks.
Buying different PARTS for their
Draining CARS.
Hope you know these rats.

I think we truly need to
eliminate these RATS with
Iron insecticides,pushing them
into the ocean of remonstration
and patriotic regrets. Those
RATS should go through those famished
Bullets!.
Or what do you think?

Hmmm.....these rats!

Lonesome George For Billy

Lonesome George is Gone

The Pinta Tortoise breed is no more
He was discovered in 1972, six hundred miles from Ecuador.

He was the only one left the others have died out
They tried to breed poor George but he was no sex lout
They tried and tempted him with females, all tortoises but not the same DNA
But lonesome George was uninterested, he didn’t want to play.

100 hundred years old, they thought old George was when he did die
I’m not sure - but I don’t think many men would even try
I think it may have been the strain of tempting him to sin
Parading females round his haven waiting for him to get stuck in.

Many men would love it, that I do believe
But poor George couldn’t get it up their frustrations to relieve
They say he died stretched out perhaps, he had a go
But maybe she got fed up waiting, and decided she would go.

Not wanting to hurt his feelings and telling him not to worry
Perhaps she was getting bored and told him he should hurry.
Poor George they will not leave alone they will necropsy him today
I wonder if anyone thought, poor George may have been gay.

Premium Member You can Never Go Back but I Did

I went back to my childhood home.
To recite a few secondhand lines at a first-rate funeral
to try and hold up the survivors' bones.

A half century is a long time to be away from home.
Everything is off, smaller, colder, shadows in children's places.
I was surprised to see a new serf occupying my childhood home.
Most of the climbing trees were gone along with birdsong.

I rode around my old town with my most recent soulmate.
She's uninterested in my ghosts; she just wants something to eat.
I continued with the tour of the sad and pathetic.
"This is where I had my first six-pack.
In the bushes with the bad girls aside the railroad tracks.
The beer was warm and stolen and tasted really bad.
We used to throw stones at the cars that were piggybacked."

One day the train got revenge, gobbled up my puppy...
He was a curly-headed ball of happiness...his name was Fuzzy.
He squeezed under the fence; or somebody left the gate open...
Quality control was never quite up to snuff in our home.
I paid the karmic train with compounding interest.

"Those apartments used to be a green field
where we used to play baseball.
That law office used to be a candy store.
I guess you could say it went from sweet to bitter. Hà ha."
It's nice to see that the ice cream parlor survived
Although the service with a smile did not.

In short, you could fit my childhood into a half-mile square.
An 8-block nest, smaller but sweeter than the Vatican.
It was in high school when life got serious
Some kids overdosed,
some got pregnant
Some did heroin
Some just settled for hash
Some had big dreams
Some simply snapped.
For most, it was our first taste of death.
A few ran away to make a bigger mess.
Life turned from golden ribbons into tangles of stress.
Struggling with the undertow of tomorrow.
The chaining then slaying of innocents.

They say you can never go back.
The gears of time are without consciousness.
Time will not hesitate to chew your heart up.
Sacrifice you to the scrub of responsibility, measured fun.
Time invites melancholy, resists nostalgia. -
It's fond of guiding memories
onto train tracks, warm beer and dead puppies.

In the Wake of Transformation

Affirmed & Perfect
I looked at my reflect,
Green T-shirt paired with black pants,
Hopes of bright future surged ahead.

I waited long, till a van came,
Reached late when class had already commenced,
Nervous and unknown in that herd,
I thought,
Someone would know the Aditi I left.

With each passing day,
I, too, failed to recollect.
Adjusting among peers,
I left laughter, fun and ease.

All still went well,
Until I was mocked for which I was best.
Making a front bencher hide at last,
Uninterested to struggle further,
She surrendered too fast.

Leaving her nurturers disheartened,
She cried alone at dark nights on bed.

Simultaneously, a heart break came.
Cracking a whole of four chambers in million shards.
I remember I had said;
'Changes & Adjustments can't be for vain'.

I didn't knew,
How a white lie was used;
To ease our worries,
For the uncertain future ahead.

Premium Member Temptress

Line 2: "she reassured me with an unfamiliar line"

she's but an alluring, poisonous spider
that wields her sexiness like a weapon.
   come what may, she gets what she wants;
an opportunist; her target, malleable men

uninterested in relationships, she's all about
grifting. she once tried to lure me into her web.
she reassured me with an unfamiliar line...
  "don't worry, I don't bite!"...but I knew better.

     she's an effortlessly seductive temptress
      with intoxicating charms tough to resist;
she enjoys dangling her feminine wiles
like a carrot for benighted men to nibble.

she's left a trail of broken men in her wake.
be careful, my guy! do not let her suck you
into the vortex of her magnetism, for she'll be
              the author of your destruction.

Goat on a rope

Well my life was pretty good
Till Mom made me walk the goat.
And all I had to do it with
Was a piece of measly rope.

The reason for this tragedy-
Embarrassing,to say the least;
Our foolish goat had indulged herself
In a very gluttonous feast.

When dinner was served the other day
She swallowed more than chewed.
Eating more than the other goats;
A sickly amount of food.

We found her on the floor,
Stomach in distress.
Painfully bemoaning
Her self-inflicted mess.

So Mom decided a plan
To ease her stomach pain:
Every day I'd walk her
(And in the process go insane).

I harnessed her with rope
And tried to get her out.
The others kept escaping
Despite my every shout.

At last I got them in,
With my patient this removed.
Descending the goat shed stairs
Was the next thing I had to do.

I tried to lead her down
But she just stood there at the top.
Pushing and pulling didn't work-
It was like trying to move a rock.

So I picked up the stubborn thing
And brought her down myself.
Our goat had made it clear
That she would be no help

I brought her to a trot
And ran her several laps.
"Why am I her doing this?"
Is a question I'd often ask.

I restrained her many attempts
To wander around and forage.
Dining on toxic plants
Was a habit I had to discourage.

She then became uninterested,
Proceeding to lie down.
In spite of my tugs and pulls
She stubbornly held her ground.

I had to haul her up
Despite her loud complaints.
I tied her to a tree
And left her thus restrained.

I heard her bleats for help
But didn't regret a thing.
My patience was out the window-
Too late for sympathy.

A whole week,I did this,
To help that infernal goat.
By the end of the ordeal
I was starting to lose all hope.

Our dear goat is fine now;
She's no longer in the red.
I've had enough of watching goats;
I'd rather watch chickens instead.

Mad World

A welcome sight the lights ahead - like misty globules on ink black foam
The billboard elicits a sense of foreboding - Welcome to the Midnight Bazaar
A lack luster moon adds to the mystery – nervously I enter to ask my way home
A familiar song plays in the somewhere, the name eludes me - how bizarre

Somberly dressed people scurry past- eyes focused on illuminated screens
Refusing contact, shoving past rudely as I ask where this place would be
One of them in riddles tells me - this is home - the place to be it seems
I wonder if the scales of reality have tipped in favor of insanity

A stall arouses my curiosity and I look as a butcher of sorts places
Bleeding hearts getting desired effect - starts a pushing jostling frenzy
Uninterested in the clowns on stilts with their painted morbid faces
Children walk with sullen looks - expressionless eyes that fail to see

Crowds clamor to buy sea food - how absurd - especially as a smell of decay prevails
Fresh produce on sale with dyed color bleeding and truffles of mud is there something amiss
A man wanders around with passports on offer - Buy yourself a Life - his sign displays
Relief at last - a stall with books and maps – here is my escape from this tainted Abyss

This God forsaken place is not where I wish to stay
And I must strive to leave it before the light of day

An exorbitant sum I pay eager to escape his cloying breath, his black toothed smile
A commotion at the far end - some sort of bidding - curiously I venture courage giving me wings
A sign proclaims ‘Souls For Sale’- in rage I scream ‘you cannot sell souls - This is so Vile ‘
Dark soulless eyes in chalk white faces – Bore right through me – Look right through me

I run screaming, falling, clawing the map that shows all roads lead back to this Hell - I scream
Waking myself - knowing the name of that song still in my head - Shaking from this macabre dream

Footnote:
This was not meant to be a pretty poem. It exaggerates the state of a world that has seemingly lost its focus and empathy. Let's not let this happen

Take a bit of Dean Kontz, Stephen King and the unnatural things going on with food enhancements and you have the stage set for a macabre nightmare!

I Bought A

Her glare seemed to covey her
feelings. She is uninterested or
need a script to be remotlyly
kind to him as freind.
He wished her to be more kind as
his and her's research together
could revolutionize the medical world.
What within reason finds us together
he said. She asked was he coming on
to her in a gentle voice, he anwsered no
do you want me too? Awning she awnsered
if our working together
means being kind to one another
I will be kind. If success means us be
exclusive wwith one another
maybe we should start dating
I just want to know the conditions
of our togetherness.
Alligator and Ostriches are the most
popular animals and both our research
is centered around danger. We'll need
to learn to trust one another
were we to be partners.
He told her he had put years into
research and losing it all to some
sorta
dating scam wasn't what he was looking
for. Deal she replied right anwser.
We are dating, and are exclusive.
I don't want anything to compromise my work,
and possibly our future works together,
deal! she told him. I guess were dating: yeah sorta
I guess so!

Finally

Finally
Uninspired, indecisive
Uninterested and depressed
Demotivated, disenchanted
Heavy stones sit on my chest
Unrelenting is this feeling
Hopefully it’s just a phase
I must disallow this madness
It’s been going on for days
Disillusioned, disappointed
I am discouraged and dismayed
The distraction is alarming
Now I feel somewhat afraid
I have lost my pace and rhythm
All my planning is derailed
Dislocated is my focus
Why do I feel like I failed?
I detest my disposition
I despise this disarray
I demand an alteration
It should start without delay
All at once I start restoring
And I fix each thought and mood
Everything comes back together
And I finally feel good.
