As Often As Anyone Else

How often do shadows cry
And if they do
This means like us
they feel to
How often do whereabouts
dispose of their founders
The emptied hands pivoted gruesome
To only expire before you lose them
This is why my eyes cry
Late night movies
Midnight hours, how do you spend them
When letters feel “ no need to reply”
To where do we send them
A curious mind in eye sight
A figure taunted
The difference in people is
“Don’t let your personality dye”
Flesh wounds appear the same
Determination’s found in change
Could you spare me some change
A course of new events
Hand prints on the face of cement
Try not to take life out of context
“I’ll be home soon”
Read his final text
History is somewhat of a vex
Sort of a temporary fix
A day, a age, that some of us miss
How do you become a person
Or exhibit the features of everyday people
Minus the wars, the battles, the ether
Trouble awaits
For those of us who refute
Similar choices brought
About in this place of being
Bloggers are subsequent to ignorance
Just the lack of reading
Express’s the true meaning of being for real
The objective to live and protect yourself
Minus the kill
Sometimes glory comes as a steal
Did you think love was beautiful
Black coffee, cigarette buds
A raspy voice
from a figurine with seductive cuticles
A slice of pie
Banana’s and caramel
On top of our lie
Apart of me is fiction
And some of you is true
A journal
Do you commit yourself to unfulfilled comments
Did you dust your hands off
Wash your face
and forget to accept the necessary compliments
If I’m shady
then you weren’t around
Too far gone, dancing in the sun
Musically
you love the violin
Sympathetically
you can’t sing without the gin

Them Two

Darlin will you look at those two.
Kinda reminds me, of me and you.
We’ve certainly put some years on since then.
But Daddy I still remember when.
Lord there’s so much they don’t know.
We can’t tell them, so we just have to let it show.
Oh and look at her face all a glow.
It’s a beautiful thing, to watch a young love grow.
It takes me back to when our love was new.
Two wild hearts, so young and true.
I gave you my heart and that’s where it was kept.
And it all started right there with that first step.
But it turned into an amazing journey over a thousand miles.
It’s true we’ve seen our share of trials.
And times when we’ve stumbled along the way.
But here we are, still here today.
And it’s so bittersweet, to let them go.
Although we have to I know.
I’m proud of them both, they did good.
By making the choices, I prayed they would.
I’m sure it won’t be long before they start down a path of their own.
And I’m thankful they won’t have to go alone,
They’ll be alright, they have each other and they have us,
To point them on the way, show them love, honnor and trust.
To give them guidance when the road gets rough.
And we can only hope, when their roots are firmly in the ground.
That they too will know the happiness we’ve found.

Thirty Seven

Awoke at 6:37 after hitting snooze
Thirty seven times with
Thirty seven aches and pains
To thirty seven worn out bones
And as I washed my face for
Thirty seven seconds of cold water
I lifted my head to the mirror and noticed
3 forehead wrinkles and 7 zits….hmmmmm
I walk past the mirror and as I dress realize
The thirty seven dimples in my ass
Immediately retreating to the eliptical
For thirty seven minutes
I get a call from my mother reminding me
That thirty seven years ago, she became my mom
And I realize that I am thirty seven million times
Grateful of the thirty seven years of love
I think about the thirty seven years ahead of me
And the more than thirty seven times I’ll examine
My wrinkles and remember they were born of
Thirty seven years worth of smiles and tears
What a great day to be thirty seven
I believe I’ll celebrate with less than thirty seven
Glasses of wine and laugh at least thirty seven
Times as I surround myself with those that love me
And luckily I’m so inlove and I can retreat to
The arms of a handsomely wonderful man
And whisper about how awesome it is to be
Thirty seven and if he’s lucky
Theres something else
I may do thirty seven times

The New Era

Welcome,
This is the new era.
Ships stay docked,
And nothing ever changes.

Everyone who passes you on the street,
Doesn't even look you in the face...
Afraid to break away,
But more afraid to stay right here,
As they slowly fade.

Faces have become one,
Because this beauty that we valued so much,
Was unified and all the same,
So when you fall in love with one of us,
You fall in love with all of us.

The buildings speak in whispers,
But the ground screams,
"What have you done?"
Everyone here is now deaf.
Everyone here robotic, if that's what that means.

See, things are not the way they were,
When you were growing up...
Names are not names,
But numbers...
Configure and disfigure.

A slow erosion in the sky,
Domestic disturbance,
Streetlights ablaze,
Radio skyline...
It's just another night.

We do not die...
But we do not live.
We are constant and hollow,
Weak and dismal,
Shallow,
Just where can you hang your head among the dead?

Modern medicine,
We need you so,
But when therapy doesn't come easy,
It does not matter,
When we are only echoes of the past.

Welcome,
This is the new era.
Ships stay docked,
And nothing ever changes.

Narwhalism

Of all the creatures I would love to be
The Narwhal is most preferred by me

So awesome, sweet, and adored by all
Swimming in the arctic without a care
Their beautiful tusk stands nine feet tall
Straight out of water, into the air

Their horn is an amazing, powerful device
Tusking other Narwhals with pleasant emotion
Content with frozen waters and ice
The most loving whale in the ocean

Sensing vibrations and predicting the weather
Conducting the Orca-stra and fighting crime
Wise and hungry, they all work together
As the greatest aquatic species of all time

So mystical and and wonderful, it's hard to believe
That creatures such as these actually exist
The foolish Unicorn-believers are deceived
Yet the reality of the Narwhal persists

For now, your love for Narwhals may not be perceived
But before long, your mind will be infected and free
Narwhalism is spreading and will soon be received,
With symptoms including overall happiness and glee

Believe in the Narwhal with all your heart
Your life will see no more torture or misery..

Of all the creatures I would love to be
The Narwhal is most preferred by me

A Life Long Lived.

Crescent, Fraddle, gentle light fill's the moonlight as youre eyes glisten through mine.
Filling every fulll glowing touch, in a darkened bay, You stare into my eyes, the question why
passes youre mind once or twice. You're sitting there, drenched in what we shared, every
memory, and love you cared. You were there to pick me up, and put me back in place, Ill
never forget youre words of wisdom, and youre glowing bright face. Youre heart pumps at
the race of suicidal thoughts in time, This feeling i cant let go, its such a crime. Its a long
lasting chance to break free, and renew what we thought we could of had, this molment of
loss, this colors checkerd plaid. So many patterns and runon's through this aftermath in an
after glance that shines brighter then the stars, no matter where we are from pluto til mars.
Ill travel to the highest peak, the highest mountain my lovve, from the hell's of low, and
highest heaven above. Take into mind, that letting go willl not set us apart, but if you love
somone you set them free, because you'll always be forever in my heart.

The Long Walk

As we walk through life forget all the hard times,
we remember what we were taught,
and how hard our parents fought,
for us to live the lives they couldn't ever imagine to have.

We walk through this world with a few good friends,
a shelter, and a god given plan.
to be the best we can, no matter how hard,
to make the right moves, as we walk through the dark.

As we walk through the trials of pain and defeat,
we soon realize, it takes more to be beat,
we built up our guards, and made up the walls,
so what's stopping us, from moving on through it all.

We walk through this life, with love in our hearts,
a notion of what love is, but never a real sense of how it starts,
we fight for our passions, others break down our walls,
we let everything go, just to give a person our open arms.

Because, as we go through this world,
all its hardships and trials,
we learned our ways, our manors,
and walked the long miles,
to get to a place, where we can finally lay down our heads,
open our hearts, stop our motionless hands,
and rest in the dark.

Mystic Walk

I took a mystic walk with you,
a haze of violet, and sapphire blue

You reached out gently for my hand
and I began to understand -

The universe, in all its glory
only a part of life’s long story

So much more will we behold
    sparkling new, of ancient old.

You deeply looked into my eyes
    visions - memories- other lives

of you and I, your hand in mine,
in love, but running out of time…

When I met you, remembrance was there
but this lifetime won’t be so fair -

It seems the work we have to do
must come before love burns anew.

But…
I still see you in my dreams,
on twilight walks…. by crystal streams…

Promises of timeless love,
as sure as stars that shine above.

Come…
take a mystic walk with me,
in spirit dreams our love is free -

For in this place of timeless time…

        I am yours…

               and you are mine.

Everything That Won'T Come Back

Do you know
Where the wind blows
How do you go
To where the wind blows

On accompany bound
North Carolina found
Down the coast
Out the window of a greyhound
Day dreams
Just won’t let me sleep sound

“Life’s a gamble
At terrible odds
If it were a bet
How would you take it”
Up at the lighthouse
Lake Superior, I’m here
Skating across the ice
Minnesota’s lovely winter song
Downtown Duluth
Across the red bridge on my own

It was a five card draw
Cocaine in an empty mans straw
Little blind short
It was big blinds bluff
Inordinate of a pack of Newport’s
Fell in love waving goodbye at the airport

Welcome back home
Were you lost or alone
Because you’re no one
Just as were when you left
Did you find your fun
Hitchhiking all by yourself
I made it back to peace
On a coarse to no where
Fresh out of Love Joy, Georgia

Do you know
Where the wind blows
How do you go
To where the wind blows

Lost For You

crossing seas of endless pain
waves wash over his wounds with burning salt
take me away
let me leave cries the boy
eyes dry and staring blank he asks
why me? why her?
lions bow there heads in shame as he passes by
roses blacken too the boys touch
on his beach he reflects like the mountain pool
shadows reach with their deadly grasp
anger burning turns sand into glass
i have done all i can
where is she?
why can't i see her...hear her?
tender hearts lead to the river
her river
sitting down he lets water rush his soul
veins now flowing cold with ice
darkness engulfs everything but him
his pain is too deep and powerful
sailing back into oceans alone and blindfolded
twenty days without direction he unmasks the prison
i love you
please can i have a sign you hear me...see me?
wind stops sound stops time stands still
a smile emerges from within
one tear
he now lies lost inside of his love once taken from him
