Premium Member Once You Were My Song

There was a season, precious was that time,
When you were my dawn of ebullient sunrise,
Song of my mornings, exuberance of spring,
Blossoming gleefully life’s verdant prairies
Whispering to dreamy nights hints romantic
Adorning love verses in indulgent promise.

As autumn arrived, you were still by my side,
Though vigor of hearts soon began to parch
As resplendence dried amid meadows’ sighs
When memories of spring autumn spurned
For music of romance was abruptly paused
And you left the stage as emotions stormed
Leaving behind effigy of affections denied.

There I struggled in turmoil of the bygones
Recalling forever-vows pledged for lifelong
Dissonant in your resolve~ time to exit now,
When rejecting my pleas, you were soon gone,
Refusing to ponder where did love go wrong.

Those days of spring still bloom my prairies,
Your passionate themes still blossom my dreams,
Though you have left and time has moved on
I am still holding on to reveries of our past
Knowing, at times, while love may not last,
It still strums the music and recites its song.

Anytime I Want To

Anytime I want to…

So you think all I can write is romantic poetry,
well that is not the case I can assure you
I can write poetry on many topics and themes
any time I want to…

Sure, I am in love with the most amazing
woman in the world, with hypnotic maple eyes
and a smile that could light up the
dark side of the moon…
And yes, I find beauty in everything I see,
from an enchanting honeysuckle sunrise
to a euphoric star draped twilight sky
on a warm spring evening as fireflies
linger in the cool breeze and we sit together
mesmerized by our desires…
And of course I enjoy a whispering ocean,
melodic waves of turquoise and aquamarine
gently lapping upon a satin shore
in harmony with crystal azure skies
as my love and I walk along
leaving footprint mosaics in the sand…

But that doesn’t mean all I can write
is romantic poetry…I can write about other things
anytime I want to…
and I will…pretty soon…maybe tomorrow,
well tomorrows not a good day for me, maybe the next,
but you’ll see…

Nightingales serenade my soul
as do guitars, violins to console

their background of music I hear
pierce through, visions soon appear

I leave the world of commotion
feel beauty from peace and emotion

find solace in the sounds I hear
instrumential music I hold so dear

memories of passions spent increase
rising emotions begin to release

allows me to wander through glorious dreams
of wondrous wonder from musical themes

where butterflies dance in luminous light
and float and drift in continuous flight

I face the softest warmest breeze
to see the world fade in an evening's ease

could that this beauty forever be found
in my peaceful sanctuary of musical sound

Premium Member The Nothingness

The Nothingness began as a small, black smear across my smile.
It wormed and gnawed its way past my unsuspecting defenses,
Until it settled finally in the center of my heart,
Numbing my smile and deadening all my senses.

Once its icy grip had completely encircled my heart
I believed it would take one stronger than I to pry it apart.
Where does my champion stand; he who will fight for me?
Will one come forward now and set my wounded spirit free?

I sat alone in the darkness, listening in the silence, waiting for a sign,
A brief repast, a hopeful glance, or perhaps a warm embrace.
From deep within, my warrior stirred and slowly began to chant.
I felt my strength begin to rise and my sad heart quickened its pace.

“This is a lie! I am not powerless in my own life!”
Darkness seeps in when focus is not set on life affirming themes.
This did not happen TO me. I allowed it to grow and spread.
I will not succumb to the Nothingness. My soul will be redeemed.

One step at a time, one powerful action after another,
I take back my power to own my emotions and thoughts,
I will overcome this relentless hopelessness and depression
By remembering who I am, I CAN control what is my own fault.

Underneath the Nothingness is a strong desire to die.
Choosing to live begins with a decision. Where will my focus lie?
Looking away from the Nothingness drains it of its power.
Drawing from my own strength and determination, I decide to try.

Scale Moves

Here's a song lyrics that incorporates the themes and ideas you provided:

[Intro]
(Sensual R&B beat starts playing)
In the old world, where grandeur reigns
Luxury and opulence, the elevated trains
Royalty and high-class, a world apart
Where the elite reside, and the wealthy start

[Verse 1]
I'm feeling like a king, got my crown on tight
Maybach music playing, it's a royal night
I'm sipping on the finest, got my feet on the floor
I'm the master of my fate, and I'm asking for more
In the Great Basin, where the Shoshone roam
I'm the Snake Indian, with the rhythm in my bones

[Chorus]
Snake you up, snake you up, take you down with flair
Snake you up, snake you up, got the sensual beat in the air
Snake you up, snake you up, moving to the rhythm and the sound
Snake you up, snake you up, got the luxury all around

[Verse 2]
Northern Paiute people, we're co-located in style
Federally recognized, our tribe's worth your while
We're dancing through the night, with the music in our souls
Our traditional settlements, where our ancestors made us whole
From the mountains to the valleys, our legacy remains
We're the royalty of the land, with the snake's deadly games

[Chorus]
Snake you up, snake you up, take you down with flair
Snake you up, snake you up, got the sensual beat in the air
Snake you up, snake you up, moving to the rhythm and the sound
Snake you up, snake you up, got the luxury all around

[Bridge]
In the old world, where the grandeur reigns
We're the modern-day royalty, with the Maybach music and the gains
We're living life like kings and queens, with the luxury at our feet
We're the masters of our fate, with the sensual beat

[Outro]
(Sensual R&B beat continues to play)
Snake you up, snake you up, one last time
We're the Snake Indians, with the rhythm and the crime
Snake you up, snake you up, it's a royal affair
With the luxury and the opulence, we're leaving you impaired.

Note: The lyrics are written in a way that pays homage to the Shoshone people and their culture, while also incorporating the themes of luxury, opulence, and grandeur. The repetition of "snake you up" is meant to be a sensual and rhythmic element, rather than a literal reference to the snake.

Sarah's Poetic Journey

Sarah Teasdale, a poet of grace,
Her words like whispers filled the space.
Born in the year of eighteen eighty-four,
Her life's tale, forever to explore.

A tender soul with a heart that bled,
In verse, her emotions were widely spread.
Love, nature, and longing her themes,
She painted beauty with eloquent dreams.

Pulitzer Prize, her talent recognized,
Yet her heart still yearned, love unrealized.
Her spirit soared, but darkness prevailed,
Inner battles fought, heartache unveiled.

A fragile soul, her battles unseen,
In her poems, a glimpse of what had been.
Her pen a solace, her voice so pure,
A testament to a life's allure.

A legacy left, her verses abide,
In timeless lines, her spirit resides.
Sarah Teasdale, her biography told,
A poet's journey, forever bold.

Ode To Childhood

It's like a haunting
where images and visions freely sail
clutching to some distant memory that prevails
recalled with joy and laughter's gaze
or fear and loathing of the echoes raised;

should I sleep and dream a child's dream
would it return to me in nightmarish themes
or paint the picture of a moment in my history
where I am still the child lost in mystery?

In the sunlight dare, I dance
in puddles forgotten along the street expanse
or could I run without my shoes
and bare my innocence to lose?

is it just the puddle after the rain
or in this recollection can I be a child again
to wander the street of childhood
 where alone we float easily as driftwood;

splash the puddles as the water flows
and embrace angelic blessings that children know
dance the frenzied round of simplicity most treasured
and find the adventures experienced and measured
of childhood forgotten and remembered again.

Once, when my heart was young,
There was a stirring in my thoughts,
Whispers and sighs, dreams unsung,
Invaluable lights, falling softly, stirring…

Gentle, like the dew dropping still,
Reassuring my feelings, my faith, my reasons
For believing – yes, eternity would fulfill…
My prayers answered by His awesome grace.

Lasting, silencing the black of night,
Reminding me that hope is always alive,
Moving me to believe in His wonderous light,
Who survives even the doubt that destroys hearts.

Breathing, psalms unlocked by sacred themes,
Songs silent – melodies colored in beautiful,
Soul smiles, joyful and lavish, wonderful extremes,
Erasing the darkness with peace that rests each fear.

Artistic fingers, brought to life by God’s direction,
Bleeding goodwill through the land of shadows,
Promising elation with each heavenly connection,
Twinkling with wonders who abide in each blessing.

Memories, like unopened gifts, present the spirit,
With a sense of what it means to feel so eager…
For the light that pours out its ache, so you hear it,
Beyond the star strewn skies, miracles who abide.

Glowing, soft as the settling sun,
Startling each dawn, each twilight haze,
With inklings of the miracle that God begun…
When He gave us One who shines eternal love!

Premium Member Her Ink Is My Quill - Anacreontic Verse

Despite the distance,
like moon and ocean,
I feel her close, but
touchless and tasteless.
Craving her comfort.
like a thief without
his precious treasure,
I yearn for one glimpse.
Tongue is silent, but
as spirits ignite,
'urges' call her name.
Her voice cools embers,
as souls dream to meet.
Soft tones of her heart
flutter so tranquil.
Calmness of her waves,
vibrate my heart's beam,
as my moonlight rays
fondle wet ripples,
absorbing deeper
like blended shadows,
merging ebony
and ivory strokes,
gently flowing like
lyrical lovers.
Adrift in her bliss,
hoping to merge like
tides kiss distant shores.
Her ink is my quill -
sprinkling our garden.
