the State of Arizona has signed a very crazy law
that in the opinion of most Americans has some major flaws
it requires each and every person who trods upon their land
to walk around with proof of citizenship papers in their hands
they say it's not racial profiling, they say it's fair and just
to make an assumption about anyone's immigration status
I don't know, maybe it's me
but doesn't this bill violate our basic civil liberties
Arizona is the only state which wanted no part of that federal determination
that made the birthday of the Rev. Dr. M.L. King a day of national celebration
I don't know about you America but I see the writing on the wall
If we don't stop this Bill the integrity of America will fall
most every person in the United States is a product of immigration
be it first, second, third, fourth or fifth generation
how dare those racists in Arizona try to pass this crazy law
that undermines everything that America stands for
"Give me your tired, your hungry and your poor" are the words on the Statue of Liberty
yet this law that demands proof of status is an Unconstitutional absurdity
the Police in turn won't be able to deal with any real crime
if they're going around asking people for citizenship papers all the time
no warrant is required, just a reasonable suspicion
but who has the wherewithall to determine that decision?
Heaven forbid if they should ever encounter a child
would they say "papers please" with a badge and a smile?
this is some BS, why can't they see that this bill is wrong?
and who in hell gave them the authority to tell people where they belong?
this Bill I call "Papers Please" this Bill we must fight
so that every American will sustain their inalienable rights
for this country to be like South Africa was with its aparthied situation
would be a grievous mistake and a true abomination
"Papers Please" Arizona's Senate Bill 1070 we must defeat
we need to let the State of Arizona know that we will take it to the streets
It is so difficult to write about one's beliefs,
On the Freedoms and Liberty we have.
Throughout our history events are replete,
Of the ones who have died, our Freedoms to save.
I go back in time when I look at our past,
And wonder if our children will see.
The pain and strife born in Freedom's birth,
And the lives that have been sacrificed for Liberty.
The Revolution started all the fuss,
When King George wanted his taxes.
It got us the Freedom we used for all,
And lives to this day when we talk of the "Evil of Axis".
We've had to fight as a people united,
By cause, or strife, or enemy attack.
From 1812 to Afghanistan,
For Freedom and Liberty to stay on track.
There have been too many wars,
And battles in name have never been few.
Like Chateau Thierry, Iwo Jima, and even Tet,
Where our countrymen have paid their dues.
We have had the plights of other concerns,
That many around the world don't construe,
As a helping hand to all of them,
Except when they need us to.
Some say "Why send an Aircraft Carrier to a blighted zone,
Where people need all kinds of medical support"?
They forget that one of those ship is a floating city in itself,
With aircraft, hospitals, doctors, and our country's flag it will sport.
Then there is the overwhelming clamor,
Of those who want to come here to live and stay.
They know so little of our history,
Only that Freedom and Liberty is our way.
They want that Freedom for themselves as well,
And a Liberty which will let them choose.
They see us as a beacon then,
When their own freedoms they all but lose.
Life, Liberty, The Pursuit of Happiness,
The words our Founding Fathers swore...
Are Actions we take for granted each day,
With the Freedoms which we adore.
What does Freedom and Liberty mean?
It's just as plain as plain can be.
Because I want the Liberty to live my life,
And have the Freedom to wear it on my sleeve.
-Notice that I'm highly self-sufficient, secretive, and apparently friendless. I never
did really like help or companionship. I welcome it very rarely. I prefer to operate
alone. You may hear people claiming they are in my confidence, that they may even
understand me. They are deluded. I have never had a friend. nor do I believe I have ever
wanted one-
I'm not blind, you can't stand me, can you, go ahead admit it
What is it, my good looks, king-natured swagger, or refusal to take it
If that's the case, then why do you compulsively smile in my face
Duh, there's no other explanation for it, your image is fake
Period
Behind my back you talk about me, but when I'm around it's someone else
If it's happening to them, it's happening to me, I can understand it greatly, I need no help
Its amazing how the people you grew up with and you thought you knew
Would be the main ones plotting to ride together and smoke you
I don't care anymore, because like Nas said: Nowadays its the ways
My father always said watch the smiles, I listen to what he says
So you what you don't like me, am I supposed to care?
I stood up and said to everybody "Be real with me or kill me." Was that enough?
If you ever see people smiling a lot, they're only being phony
The ones wearing those looks be female friends and longtime homies
I am the center of attention, the one my "friends" deeply despise
I've learned the hard way over the years that smiling faces tell lies
Form:
I'm not an anti-social person, I insist.
See, I have 184 people on my contact list.
Granted only 22 of them are online
And only 3 on mobile, which is really fine.
Let's just say I enjoy the company.
And honestly 22 people is plenty.
Even though I only talk to one or two,
Besides, I haven’t got much else to do.
The thing that I enjoy the most
Is the concept of talking coast to coast.
I like the little box in a window so blue.
And the thought that someone else has one too.
I'm not an anti-social person. I'm just a teen
Sitting alone in a room. Facing a bright screen
As the hours of my life slowly tick away.
Before you know it, I've been here all day.
But I like the silence. It makes me strong.
Sometimes I break it, and play a song.
I could surf the web, find something I like.
If not I could just play Counter-Strike.
But then I stop and begin to think.
I've been sitting here all day, no food or drink.
And pretty soon I start to stink.
I don’t think I can even blink.
What if I was to go outside?
Would I succeed, if I tried?
But the web is so awesome! I laughed and I cried.
Sitting very lonely, as the planets collide.
Now I feel distraught,
Obnoxious to the clocks.
Am I really anti-social? Am I starting to rot?
Behind these bolts and locks
Lies the answer I have sought.
I think hard, holding on to my socks.
But before I could finish my thought...
Ding!

Many people look into the mirror,
and only see their imperfections...
I have mine and laugh about them;
when famous people go under the knife,
surgeons get rich and to them they bow.
Why perfection is so sought after today?
Not all are born beautiful, some are born deformed,
and those are the ones who shouldn't be happy;
others abuse their bodies in horrendous ways,
and ignore the importance of being loved.
A pop star did just that, and he went to the extremes
to change the color of his skin to look like someone else;
he should have been proud and satisfied of how he looked!
I wasn't the handsomest guy, but somehow a miracle occurred:
I had an in-depth analysis and I felt truly beautiful!
Society creates the perfect images of famous individuals worldwide,
they become their own gods, not feeling the importance of being loved,
they look pretty from the outside, but deep down they're slowly dying;
why resemble models who are put on a starvation diet to look good
on fashion shows in Milan, Paris and New York...have they gone insane?
Reflect on your life with careful consideration, find the hidden beauty
that each one of us possess, not neglecting the importance of being loved;
have you ever noticed children how they mingle...how they love one another?
Do they see any of the defects in their bodies, or point out their differences?
Certainly not, they amuse themselves and playing they feel beautiful!
I was a Valkyrie on your side,
Till you showed your true colors-
you had done nothing but lied-
A typical White house resident,
Just another screwed up president
American's die for your belligerence
Under pretend ideologies and wars-
Under your uncaring indifference...
only thing that matters is Phallic
differences- look in the mirror
and pull up your drawers
Laws have to be passed, while people
go hungry, losing their jobs, dying
and you're the one's making all the money.
Playing with and talking about MY fate,
over 500 dollars worth of clams on a plate,
some caviar and 1800's champagne.
Trillions of dollars towards wars
and yet, no one scores.
Well, except the "enemy"
who kill our best friends and family.
all over some damn crude, or terrorism
Or WMD that never even existed.
Yes, our world leaders all suck,
it's has been a very long time
since We The People have had any luck.
There was once a decent man
long ago, named Abraham Lincoln...
but even he, did not hold the key.
Strike ye Heralded Harvard pricks out
For there is not a single doubt
that we peasants can do without
another worthless, idiot, lying "devout".
For the "I Hate Politicians" contest by Nate Dilts
Do you see that child taking care of her own
Trying to do her part
There is a need for acceptance from you and I
If you can’t do that, you have no heart
Do you see that young man walking the street
Looking for a place with some friends to hang
There is a need for acceptance from you and I
If we don’t do that, then he’ll join a gang
Society is to blame for most of our woes
Dividing the people into separated classes
The government enhances the social problems
Creating dependency, enslaving the masses
Education is just part of the key
Empowering the people to exist as one
There is a need for acceptance in one and all
Then many of our problems will become undone
Creating dependency doesn’t fit the bill
A nation enslaved to a government check
A sense of pride in a job well done
Will stop society from its downward trek
We have a responsibility to our fellow man
To all those who struggle to survive each day
To fill the need for acceptance within their hearts
To love and teach them to find their way.
Oh what times we live in
Where even the rich and famous
Are reduced to trailer living
All those good times
When money was freely spent
Aren’t quite as free
As they once were
Oh what times we live in
Where war, crime and poverty
Are the kings that seem to reign
Where people devalue themselves
In an attempt to find something gained
Oh what times we live in
Where friend turns against friend
So many ways to love
Are constantly redefined
Where people march the streets
Proudly correcting what is right
Oh what times we live in
Where even Mother Nature
Shows her violent wrath
The winds of change
Seem to be blowing strong
All around curiosity builds
As we all seek to find
Where these winds will blow
Running round in circles
Jumping on each new thought
Raising new questions of answers already bought
Oh what times we live in
Perhaps it’s time we simply
Should pay attention to
A book written so very long ago
That throughout all the many years
Has always stood firm
In its claim to know
What do you think it will take
For people to see eye to eye
Funny how we all seek the same thing
Yet somehow never agree
Funny how we never hear
But expect to be understood
Sad how we react to words
Without ever knowing their why
How we choose to ignore
The hurt and fear
In another’s eyes
While covering up our own
Each struggling to outdo the other
All the while striving
Reaching for the very same thing
Ignoring the way we’re living
We prevent the light from being seen
When the wind blows
It touches us all the same
Just like when it rains
Sunlight touches no one more
There is no discrimination
With heart and hunger pains
A man once tried to imagine
And for a moment
The world sang along
But soon words were forgotten
Lost in each other’s pride
Funny how that works
When we each try to hide
Bury the question deep inside
Until in a quiet moment all alone
Feelings rise again
And quietly we whisper
What do you think it will take my friend
For people
To see eye to eye
Proud fathers and relatives of the past.
Ghost's of thoose first Irish americans.
Eventhough the ignorant tried to kill us
still we did last.
Using are fists and breaking are backs.
from New York to Boston.
Green blood dries in the tracks.
Beautiful Island of green we left yet still
within are souls you stay.
From Belfast to Dublin In croweded streets
were children play.
Some call us paddy the brave few dare say mic.
Hate filled people casting stones
at the weak and sick.
As we viewed a new promise we
were met with a black eye.
But from the church to the pud.
The Irish were to strong to die.
And for all thoose who fought so I my
may talk to you from this stool I sit.
I promise you children of Eran .
I shall never quit.
So may the people dance and sing while the whiskey
does flow.
Let the young carry the torch
so all may know.
from shamrocks to St Patricks day.
Weve come to far.
So we shall never go away.
