Why do planners for the future,
Stubbornly cling to outdated concepts,
When the future is on our doorstep,
And the answers are on the desk in front of them.
Is it too big a leap for them to envisage?
What I have been saying for years,
That A whole village could be housed in one building,
Designed with you and me in mind,
So, nature can heal and rivers flow again.
Without the need for pipes and wires underground.
Yet they continue with cheap and nasty,
Ever smaller spaces,
On land where trees and birds once dwelt,
Building more roads,
Which flying cars will never use.
Why do planners for the future,
Cement their plans in concrete?
For the next forty, fifty, even a hundred years,
When the very technology in their hands,
Is Upgraded every month.
Why do planners for the future,
Only build relationships with those who quote
In hundreds of millions or Billions?
When there are examples everywhere,
Of what can be achieved with resources obtained for free,
Or using materials of the future for half the cost.
Why do planners for the future,
Continue planning for,
One in one hundred-year climatic events?
When two such events,
Have happened in the last decade.
Does any of this make any more sense to you,
Than it does to me.
The leaves are gladly sacrificing themselves.
Like kamikaze pilots jumping from their branches.
Landing in piles like puppies do.
Squirrels in a frenzy.
Some leaves are red with yellow blotches,
I have found six red ones with a touch of black.
The air is different, cooler, confused.
Cardinals building nests.
Football games are taking husbands away
From their chores and families
Wives are plotting foods to get them back.
Wholesome campfire songs.
Children are peeking outside.
The younger ones throwing leaves
Annoying their siblings holding cell phones.
"Hey!"
Homecoming last week.
PTA Conferences tomorrow.
One quarter down. Three to go.
Halloween pumpkins and costumes are in the stores.
Homes smell of cinnamon and pine.
Babies are conceived.
Autumn is readying for winter.
Winter planning spring.
free verse with poetic device
Having just disembarked from a date with death
on the water, time’s gateway forked for a moment.
Was it the mere dropping of an oar?
or perhaps an encounter with storms?
more milestones, maybe a meeting with the Master?
What purpose was there for extending my life?
Underwhelming thought - a single moment in time.
An irresponsible, selfish person with evil intent -
stabs at significance without a thought, without a care
for whom she hurts or whose lives are changed. OR
Breathtaking thought - a single moment in time,
A responsible, noble human being can create hope
by presiding over, planning for, defining...
inviting the power of the moment.
I chose the latter, went back to school and
became a school teacher to make a difference.

Decades of friendship have grown every day,
and now we are seniors, with hair, silver gray.
Back in our teens, at a bus stop we met;
from that day on, our friendship was set.
Thicker than thieves, we were rarely apart,
a bond that was strong right from the start.
Our classmates nicknamed us the Bobbsey twins,
and so that is how our story begins.
Two young girls who fast became friends,
planning together for fun at weekends.
Sharing our secrets, both joys and our fears,
laughing and pining, and sometimes in tears.
There for each other through thick and thin.
Forever best friends, my dear Sara Lynn.
Spectacular
Solace in the words and advices that bring comfort and relief
Planning with enthusiasm the life that you deserve from now
Embracing without any fear or resistance the earthly existence
Creating a valuable legacy that resists the onslaughts that appear
Tantalizing marvelous changes that would result in great benefits
Alluring an ethereal atmosphere that exudes thriumph and success
Composing a joyful song that is whispered in the wind as a whisper
Unveiling a gaeity that is expressed without words in your face
Lavishing in a link of efforts that reap in a meaningful sow
Acclaiming you as a winner that never give up during adversities
Rebuilding the foundation of the new person you had become

Aunt Ethel said to Uncle Fred,
Let’s attempt the starfish in bed,
Old Ethel insisted,
Till Fred’s back got twisted,
They best stick to sleeping instead!
Original poem by Jan Allison
Fred couldn't stand and was writhing in pain
Ethel was mad and looked on with disdain
So he took a blue pill
Then went in for the kill
And now performs like a stallion again.
But the blue pills power started to wane
As Ethel begged him to do it again
But things came to a stop
Poor Fred started to flop
So they gave up and cracked open champagne...
Then Ethel got hold of a book
Fred fainted when he had a look
Twas the calmer suture
Some poses may suit her
But Fred said it made him feel crook
Aunt Ethel said Freddie my dear
You truly have nothing to fear
Cos tonight’s the night
Much to my delight
We’re swinging from the chandelier!
Old Fred said I don’t understand
Your desire’s got right out of hand
If you want so much sex
Go next door and see Rex
He’s the randiest guy in the land
Aunt Ethel said you’re being silly
At aged ninety I’m no young filly
I still want to have sex
With you and not Rex
Cos Rexie’s got a tiny Willy!
The champers made Ethel quite woozy
Fred’s shattered so he had a snoozey
They were woken at four
It was Rex from next door
No thank you said Ethel I'm no floozy.
Rex hammered again on their door
He said Ethel I've said this before
My sex life is shocking
I hear your bed rocking
These paper thin walls I abhor.
Fred woke up with the pounding on the door
His language was very blue as he swore
He said " what do you want Rex" ?
He said "geriatric sex"
Cos' with Ethel I've done it twice before...
Ethel blushed and she said sorry Fred
Just last winter Rex took me to bed
BUT you were with fat Mable
Making out on our table
So I slept with Rexie instead
Final verse by Belle Bellevue
Fred said Mable has nothing on you
But what’s a poor bloke supposed to do
I heard you and Rex
Planning to have sex
What’s good for you is good for me too.

Betty White lived so long,
they had all kinds of names for her.
She managed to stay America's sweetheart
for a century by being kind and funny.
A heart of gold worn on her sleeve,
she could make everyone smile.
Her sweet face is now on a stamp
while the tributes continue coming.
Her curls sweet and eyes a'glitter but
it's her smile that charmed us all.
On one little stamp they could never list
all of her many accomplishments.
Betty earned the Guinness World Record
for longest TV career by a female entertainer.
Her wit was in full view on shows like
Match Game and Hollywood Squares.
Besides appearances on The Carol Burnett Show,
she starred in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls.
Her cleverness never got out of style,
she even hosted Saturday Night Live.
They were planning her 100th birthday
when Betty passed away a few days short.
She didn't have one last party in her
so Betty left us quietly in the night.
Betty, you're an icon and will never be forgotten.

Before breakfast, my dear, we perfected,
after years of affection, neglected,
fear and frustration detected—
our game.
After sense of ourselves, we protected,
while scrambling the omelet, suspected,
the eggs that we broke were infected,
with blame.
During luncheon, my dear, we dissected,
days of salad with care, roots subjected,
dressed in acid, as usual convected,
more flame.
Day nearly gone, now aspected,
like an omen, frustration reflected,
against walls made of fear, we erected—
this frame.
By dinner, my dear, we confected,
new marrow, from old bones resected—
the pangs of their hold are deflected,
now tame.
Finally, bedtime, we lie there complected,
our bodies at bellies connected,
fed by each other, repast corrected,
No shame.
What is the best available treatment
for cancerous climates of anxiety?
Well,
imagine you were born in a USA
time and place
when we knew only one retributive model of justice,
both internal theological punishment for being merely mortal
and external anti-ecological.
Now imagine you live in a Win/Win

wherein Restorative Justice Peace Warriors

of natural landscapes,
internal and external,
and spiritual-experiential-sensory climates,
internal and external,
nondually co-arising.

Listen what I say
Soccer say
Love to watch them play
U S A play
Jump into the fray
Football fray
Going all the way
World Cup way
I've got the soccer itch
My team has perfect pitch
Three shutouts with no glitch
First place their current niche
Begin the knockout stage
Best teams will now engage
World Cup is all the rage
Women's soccer's come of age
'Bonne chance' to other teams
Pursuing football dreams
Planning out their winning schemes
While the crowd cheers and screams
Listen what I say (say)
Soccer say
Love to watch them play (play)
U S A play
Jump into the fray (fray)
Football fray
Going all the way (way)
World Cup way
It's in their DNA...
Women's World Cup's brand new day!
