One Day At a Time

I just want you to know
On firm ground you stand
In a house made of rock
That won’t wash away with the sand

I questioned myself many times before
What am I getting myself into
Trying to fight what I was feeling
But hoping you were feeling the same too

I kept thinking you’re just a friend
As long as I pretend not to care
I won’t lose what we have
But my heart I continued to bare

You’ve breathed life into me
I fought the emotions I felt
I didn’t want you to ever know
That my heart was starting to melt

But know we are right there together
The same doubts, questions and fears
Know that I will hold you ever so close
And never leave you in tears

We’ve both been broken in pieces
Wondering if all the king’s men
Could really pick it all up
And put us back together again

There are parts of us that are exposed
Light drifting into a once dark place
Seeing the wall start to crumble
And life’s scars start to erase

I just can’t seem to get enough of you
And so many questions run through my head
Scared of the day you realize you don’t want this
Scared of the day my heart pours crimson red

I will keep your heart in a glass case
Take extra care of what you’ve given me
I will hold you ever so tenderly
And with time this you will see

What I feel is so surreal
What I feel is nothing but sincere
Let’s take a once in a lifetime chance
And see where it all goes from here

Acid Rain

Once a upon a time, I stood next to you
Hand in hand, secure and safe
On firm ground, so tall, so beautiful
in the glowing light of the sun
Like living in a fairy tale
But fairy tales are just that…tales
And the magic began to fade
Your words were once rays of light
Now began to pollute the air around me
I try to speak up and put up a fight
To use my strength and courage
You were like smog settling over a city
Nothing could keep you at bay
Trying every way possible
To clean up the damage done
But it was all in vain
The sun disappeared behind the blackness
As the clouds rolled in
No longer feeling safe
No longer feeling secure
I put on a rain coat
Hoping the rays of light
The goodness that was left
Would defeat the storm on the horizon
But the first drop fell
And then the flood gates open
I open my umbrella
Huddled underneath
Fear of the unknown
Building deep within me
Your toxic words now like acid rain
Begin to eat holes in my umbrella
Leaving me exposed
As drops start to singe my raincoat
No longer protected
Putrid, melting plastic invades my nose
Your words burning my face
Burning my heart
Drowning out my voice
No longer beautiful
I began to corrode
I stand in the rain
Leaving wounds that will scar
No longer standing tall
I hang my head
As I stand in your rain

Stars

Staring at the stars in the sky
Amazed at their creation and existence
Seeing all the stars connect into shapes and patterns
Lying on the grass as the wind passes over me
Thinking of how far away they are
Imagining the surface and energy that each star emits
The power of the stars in the Bible
The North Star points in the right direction
Home
The creation of stars and how they evolved over time
What changes they must have gone through
What transitions, temp changes, and shapes they have been?
The life span of a star and the change in brightness over the years
The distances they must have traveled throughout time
Far beyond the stars to galaxies and planets far away
To the moons of Saturn where life is, well maybe
Will they ever discover extraterrestrial life forms?
What new discoveries will NASA make?
Where will our astronaunts travel to in the next 50-100 years?
Will they ever creat a space station or hotel as proposed in the 1970's?
What is it like to be in zero gravity?
Thinking of what lies above me, but still on firm ground
I am just curious about
What the future holds, what the future holds

Empyrean Vehemence

What is this reeling throughout my being?
I gaze into the mirror; albeit elusive to eyes seeing…
Churning with pleasant burning, emotions swimming with eloquence…
With ease…
With ease…
I release my breathe breeze…
Centered, still, in this moment; anchored to the mother…
Understanding moments lead towards tomorrows dawning…
Fresh is that moment for a sacred rebirth spawning…
So come to be, that which chooses me…
I shall not run…
I shall not flee…
On firm ground I stand; mystical powerful me…
What is my inner vision?
What does my mind see?
Focused my awareness decisions; diligent creator of possibility…
It’s better to give than to receive…
Do you believe?
Do not be deceived; for it is better to give than to receive…
What you give out most certainly comes back about…
Increased intensity; tenfold immensity…
My heart is open giving without confusion…
With gratitude I receive wisdom not from old world illusion…
With ease…
With ease…
I release my breathe breeze…
Relinquished my identity; surrendered to infinity…
Forever is my energy…
Forever is my energy…

Horse Ahead of Cart

No Milord, it can wait— this software,
Let’s talk of what wears hard— the hardware.
Let justice come in time,
Ye better prove it’s prime,
On firm ground, not like gauze gossamer!
From sentiments august
To first things that come first,
So that time-wasters of cobwebs clear,
Let justice come in time,
And with reasons that rhyme,
What use late, late justice although fair?

Poet’s note: The Chief Justice of India feels: judiciary is committed to take justice to every home through technology: live streaming of judicial proceedings, translation of orders into local languages, e-courts, and the like. This is fine, but if there is one problem to be addressed to before anything else it is clearance of hundreds of thousands of pending cases. A commonsense 80:20 principle that 20% of efforts fetch 80% of result. This is third in the series: Your slip is showing, Milord.

Premium Member Practicing the pause

resting endowed functionality
as bestowed by the universe
a stirring yet arises in the heart
to emote a melodious verse

humming pulse of innate aliveness
cajoles us to dance on life’s stage
we pause awhile in the bardo
where fires of lust and desire rage

pristine presence looks at the ego
amazed at how big it has grown
it’s misaligned with the call of soul
so the times’ now to park the drone

free from the fetters of lower mind
soul’s auric field begins to increase
renewing its vibrance within itself
ushering a glow of ineffable peace

the Ferris wheel of mind yet rotates
owing to past momentum in motion
standing on firm ground we look on
nonchalant to the ongoing commotion

at the pause of polarity interchange
the hum of bliss is heard in the void
slowing down therein without cause
we reclaim the light of Self unalloyed

On the First Day

Bear not your arms for this,
put your tools away,
far away from here,
they are not needed now,
so much more to steer clear of,
the damage has been done,
so much has been taken.
What will you do when the proof comes back to bite you?
What will you say when the walls crumble away?
When 'Hell' decides to join us on firm ground,
it will be too late for you to get it.
You speak of change,
I see not *****that proves it,
war,
famine,
bodies to fall when they hear the call,
your forests burning,
a billion yearning,
fault lines churning,
none of you are learning.
What will you do when the noose is around your neck?
It will be too late as you are taking your last step.
You will seal your fate and take the rest of us with you.
Breathe your last words, but to your grave...
You will take the truth.

Premium Member God's Comfort and Peace In Times of Heartbreak

Life brings many a trial and tribulation
each day one never knows what's next
but God knows all about our plight
giving us His word in scripture text

Words of comfort to soothe one's soul
holding on close to the Lord of grace
who reminds us many times and again
'I am for you' to continue on your case

Never lose sight of God's perfect love
for all of His children the apple of His eye
His ways may be difficult but always best
He knows our every feeling whatever our cry

God is a God of quietness and peace
a peace that perfectly makes us rest
armed with HIs presence so divine
the Lord's way for you is always best

So no matter what wait on the Lord
be patient and rest in His hands
trust and obey in your sovereign Lord
together on firm ground forever stands

Castle On the Hill

am I my own castle on the hill?
here in my loneliness....
away from reality...my issues... your issues

some call it aloofness
that my life is empty
superficial......

my foundations,
made with my own sweat and tears
bricks hewn from my heart
moat filled
with my blood
spilled by my own hand.

"is my life style pretentious"....is ...
my castle built on firm ground ....no

a princess far removed from normality
awaits the crunch of boots on the stone below
only the devil holds out a hand with a welcome
my eyes are too biased to see the light of hope

what is your castle on the hill
is it your thoughts, ones you have hidden away
or ones wandering your mind whilst you....
await, that kiss from a frog.

An extraterrestrial hiding -
Elliott and E.T. won’t stay sober.
Reeses Pieces and alien colliding.
After all, it’s late October.

The shelter of woods - not his home.
Where Elliot’s family resides, not even close.
His long finger points up, “Home! Home!”
Bicycle on firm ground - arose.

The painted trail, scenic beauty,
it’s cold out there - far, far away
from his planet. It is a friend’s duty
to let him go…he cannot stay.

Separation of friendship souls.
Spoiler - both Elliott and E.T. Live.
There never was a reason for consoles.
Escape hatched - actions corroborative.
