Reminiscence of Summer (For Maxine Grace Hylton)

Before that day splashed everything with light
I played in solitude with cuddly clouds
And watched them form changing figures, blight
The sky or bring the sobbing sludge of rain,
            Or etch your portrait
                    where the spindly sparrow fly
looping your beauty with the breathless sun

We watched them
                         fall like shattered diamonds
                            once from a window battered
                                with fragile
                                                dreams
                                                           of tomorrow
And you said they were our prancing children in the water
Little Shangos you called them, and we kissed
In passion, filling love with lissom lilacs of laughter
For life was an eternal summer then
Winter was barred from where it had never been
Barren landscape scarred by the lecher, not the sun
Shrivelling petals and prayers, lynching the hearts like trees
Barren
    and scraggy
           shredding the eye
                 Brambled
                     fingers clutching sky
Tolling voids of air like a crucifix
Self important because of the importunate
Castling citadels of calamity against the hearts fear
The wind exploits the calamity of leaves
Only a shell of sultry shadows was left
                     And I bereft
                       Tented my exultation
                          To wait your coming again
                             And the annihilation of pain.
Clouds are drifters of the sky, I am enfolded in cerulean blue
Dark indigo of heart on the promenade
Children feet splashing the frazzled dry of sand
I shriek like a gull slant against the wind
Where the splashed sand grits the eye
Summer seas are all of winter's tears rinsed in light
Itinerant birds frolic here: innocence excited emits delight,
      For lovers are children
         Too trusting uncarefully
            Undermarcated wrong or right
As summer splash them like sprays
Glinting the eye Where the starving eagle plays'
I slant away to reminisce alone.

Premium Member Vacation's Last Night

He sat, open shirt, milking the good from the last
few drops of that hot beer.
Waiting on a three legged bar stool
for something to develop, but nothing was near.

A bead of sweat rolled down ever so slowly
past his navel, an outie, he hated that.
It traversed a most beautiful six pack to rest
before sliding under blue jeans hiding no fat.

She licked her curvaceous lips unknowingly.
Just wanting to relax from the night before,
she stared blankly ahead at a drop of sweat.
As it stopped, and curved, and moved, she swore.

Something moved him, he knew not what.
Coming back down to earth, he slowly looked about.
She was no more than four feet away.
So surprised was he, his first thought was a way out.

Silently laughing to herself, the first round was hers.
She could afford to let him win one or two,
to let him think he was the man about town,
before she scored the coup.

They played cat and mouse for the rest of the night.
It was steamy. Summer love developed in spite of all.
Continuing far past summer and even grad school.
Far reaching into the depths of everlasting soul.

He sat, open shirt, milking the good from the last
few drops of that hot beer.
A drop of sweat rolled ever so slowly down and
over that horrendous exposed sphere.

She licked her curvaceous lips unknowingly.
Still loving that fat, jelly belly who adored her.
Still playing cat and mouse with her hon.
Easier now, for him to recognize the purr.

Premium Member One Special Summer

The summertime of my soul
Quickly sends chills down my spine
In remembrance of passion
We had that one year
My heart races as I remember it
We held each other tightly
As we never wanted to let go
We wanted this summer to last forever
Everything was just right
The nights were cool and starry
Nothing kept us from being together
It was always peaceful and bright
We walked down the lover's paths
Feeling close to one another
As we strolled through gorgeous nature
Creating an ambiance like no other
We would overlook and faults we had
Keeping true love alive at all times
We had everything in the palm of our hands
Being together allowed for big dreams
We thought this summer would be just the start
The beginning of a lifelong journey
We thought as each day brought us closer
We might just stay together forever
Then the summer came to a close
And autumn brought with it change
We had to go our separate ways
And the distance left us estranged
No matter what we did
To try to keep us together
We could not keep the love we had
Alive like we did that summer
Soon we drifted apart
Separated for many years
All we had left
Was the wonderful summer together
The spectacular wonderful love
So special in many ways
It will live forever
Deep within my soul

Thoughts of Him

As she sits drinking her coffee on
the swing soaking in the summer day.
A smile appears on her face when
the thoughts of that summer day passed.

*remembering, when she met the stranger
                                 at the park years passed.
They laughed, talked, and walked together
                                 hand in hand.
He craved their names on the big oak tree.
It would be there for everyone to see.

Suddenly, she hears a crash as her coffee
cup falls and shatters on the patio below.
It jolts her back to reality once more.
Sadness on her face now the smile gone.

*Thoughts of him the stranger comes back
to her mind tears falling as she remembers
him saying to her-------We can never be, For
                                 I am a Married man------.

Clear Blue Sky On a Summer's Day

“Love at first sight,” I'd assumed

Was just something people say

Overused, commonplace, nothing but cliche

But the day I saw your smiling face

I knew that it was true

Falling like the summer rain

Now I'm in love with you

----

I remember the day you said "Hello"

Kinda pathetic, yeah, I know

But the very first time I saw your eyes

I wished to never say goodbye

And just as suddenly, I knew

Falling like the summer rain

That I'm in love with you

----

Clear blue sky on a summer's day

A little too warm but its okay

With you, my love, there's no dismay

Every worry seems to melt away

----

Your smile's shining like the sun

Your heart, I dare to hope, is won

I've never felt such joy inside

As when I look into your eyes

I simply can't explain, but I'm

Falling like the summer rain

And I'm in love with you

----

It's past my time to be asleep

We finally say goodbye

Our conversations seem so short

It's never enough time

I hope that you can say it too:

I'm falling like the summer rain

Oh, I'm in love with you

----

Clear blue sky on a summers day

A little too warm but its okay

With you, my love, there's no dismay

Every worry seems to melt away

They melt away

Summer Love

Its very hot outside, man, it feels just like an oven,
I call my girl on the phone, ask her for some summer loving,
I bring her over to the pool, and try to keep her cool,
We can do what we want, cause there's no more summer school,
We can go to a festival, and watch the fireworks,
Stay up late every night, or until our eyes hurt,
Go swimming on a hot night, candles by the side,
Skinny-dipping at midnight, take our fantasy on a ride,
We can dance to a slow jam, love and music fills the room,
Romance everywhere, i sweep you off your feet just like a broom,
Or we can chill in my backyard, lets do some star gazing,
Look deep into your eyes, because they really are amazing,
Watch the sunset in your eyes, what a beautiful view,
Having fun everyday, because summer love is what i feel,
Take showers together, but turn them lights off,
Back massage for my baby, cause your body's so soft,
Share a passionate kiss, inject my love into your soul,
Go to the beach at night, and take a lovely stroll,
Go to the ocean side, look at us in the puddle,
Lay down on the sand, baby girl we should cuddle,
Take the long way home, i give you a playful shove,
It might be hot right now, but its worth the summer love (:

Strolling By the Sea

Winter has its sparkle, but not for me today
my thoughts have turned to summer, not so far away.
With mild and lighter evenings and days so warm and long
I think of all the things I can do, when summer comes along.

But I’ll just want to be with you and feel you close to me
walking hand in hand with you, strolling by the sea.

So I will take some time away, to be alone with you
and we will find a rocky cove, where the sea is blue.
As we watch the children play, we’ll wonder at it all
then I’ll steal a kiss from you, as the waves caress the shore.

And I’ll just want to be with you and feel you close to me
walking hand in hand with you strolling by the sea.

We’ll take a walk across the cliffs, up where the seagulls fly
and watch the sea crash on the rocks, as the clouds drift by.
Then we’ll stroll down to the beach, to find a shell or two
and watch the surf ride on the tide, just glad it’s me and you.

The winter has us in its grip, now snow has fallen too
but my thoughts are of summer days, just being alone with you.

Premium Member Autumn's Song

The green of Summer dims her lust
The trees shed tears of Red and Gold
I close my eyes and try to forget us
But longing memories must unfold

                         The way I held her
                         The way we kissed
                          Her eyes of love
                          Her ruby lips
                         To hear her laughter
                         To hear her cry
                          The pain of sorrow
                          That ends in goodbye

I close my eyes, the nights grow longer
I feel the pain, the days grow cold
I search for answer to ponder
Amist a sea of Red and Gold

Those carefree days of Summer flee
With love's memory I befall
As Autumn beckons to surround me
Winter's nearing, her presence calls

                         A Springtime fancy
                          A Summer's love
                           An Autumn's lost
                             A Winter's rest

All for my heart to endear
Into this chorus of Autumn I fall
As Fall's breezes sing of a love so dear
In Autumn's Song her love I recall

The Summer of Nineteen Sixty

Lying on a blanket by the loch side on a summer’s day
I close my eyes and listen to the quiet.
I hear the slap, slap of the small wavelets lapping on the pebbles and
The plop of some brave fish as he twists and turns his way through the cool green water.
Above my head I hear the distinct call of the peewit and can imagine him hovering high in the
sky.
Into this calm comes the soft rustle of the rowan tree, then, the more stringent sound of a wicker
basket being opened.
I smile for I know what comes next.
The chink of crystal glasses, followed by the pop of a champagne bottle being uncorked.
I open my eyes to see my lover smiling at me.
Glug, glug, the sparkling liquid pours from the neck of the bottle.
I reach out and take the glass of fizzing bubbles, unable to keep my eyes from straying to the
new diamond sparkling on my finger.
And in my mind I hear again the words of love he whispered a few minutes ago.
These, to me, will ever be the sounds of the summer nineteen hundred and sixty.

Idea

Schools out for summer vacation
Goin take a brake do a little exploration
Find me a little summer cutie
But boys what I found was a real class beauty

Son with that dirty blonde hair
And them deep blue eyes
The body of a goddess
And the soul of an angel

I was out of my league
But what could I say
You cant stop a country boy
When he’s in love

My heart started racing
When you sat down beside me
When you asked for my name
I was a lost for words
But with that twinkle in your eyes
And that smile that you had

I knew I was out of my league
But what could I do
Cause you cant stop a country boy
When he is in love

Now she is my fiancée
And were engaged
They’d said it wouldn’t work
Cause the distance you see
She lived in Colorado and I in Alabam

But what can I say
When a country boy is in love
With the girl of his dreams
And no women is out of his league
