Sunset

The ripples flow steadily then flutter away
The illusion of an impossible feat
The Earth consumes the sun at the end of the day
A beautiful sight, a sun setting treat

Somehow it seems like the sun melts in the ocean
Extinguishing its light, all in slow motion
We sit and admire it, me myself and I
Until the stars are sprinkled, above in the sky

The sea gulls hastily, on a fishing spree
To avoid being caught by the night
Calling to others with a will to stay free
As they fill the sky in a frantic flight

The breeze blows as if to sweep the impurities away
Preparing the Earth for the birth of a new day
The sillhouette of people scavenging the sands
Some with metal detectors finding cans

But the most breath taking of all is the firy red sky
Just for a moment as the sun says goodbye
All scerene tranquility so fresh and so new
But this has no meaning when I’m not with you
