In order for us to redeem the time we need to give God our best
and be willing to do all He asks as proof of where our faith rests
as it's not about how much you've given but has your faith been consistent
in offering all you have to God with a loving persistence
to be thankful when receiving any and all blessings that come from God
and responsible when you get them and holding them in the highest regards
but to offer anything to God that costs you nothing at all
is the difference between true sacrifice and just giving a lip call
for it's not about just talking the talk, it's about being willing to walk the walk
what motivates us? and what is in our hearts?
are two of the things that most concern our Lord God
to be about giving God your best, as He's the only one whom you need to address
there will be times of difficult instructions when you choose to follow His commands
there will be some hard choices to make that you may never come to understand
yes God will test you to determine your faithful resolve
but if you place your trust in Him some mysteries in your life may be solved
and when making a burnt offering to God it needs to be free and whole
coming from one's heart with the surrendering of one's soul
so never offer God anything that costs you nothing to give
remember it's only by His grace and mercy that you even live
Abraham was so faithful to God he was willing to offer his only son
his hope for the future, his heritage, his legacy now under the gun
about to slay his only son until the Angel of God appeared
and told him, "don't touch that child", for we know of God you now fear
he was willing to make the sacrifice and give all that from him God desired
no matter how hard, no matter how difficult to follow the instructions God inspired
hand God your hands and let Him have control
adhere to God's plans and surrender to Him your soul
trusting in what He instructs you to do
believing His blessings will then rain down on you
God has much in store for us when we follow His instructions
and will supply all our needs with His providential productions
His word is the pathway to promise and the roadway to righteousness
His love is the gateway to glory and the highway to holiness
so don't offer God anything that costs you nothing in life
for He made the greatest offer to you with the crucifixion of His son Jesus Christ
Multitudes enter the venue
all know there's something Entre Nous
You Take a Friend to find your place
it's time to just Cut to the Chase
All Losing It, the lights go down
Signals a start to the Countdown
Vital Signs race to Larry, Curly, and Moe
a Distant Early Warning that starts the show
Can't Resist that sound, distinctive
while The Stars Look Down it seems instinctive
The Spirit of Radio starts (with an attitude)
up on your feet you're In the Mood
Making Memories with a Headlong Flight
and straight on into The Color of Right
Might they play The Necromancer
or maybe even Fancy Dancer
Tom Sawyer starts a wild frenzy
One Little Victory follows unrelentingly
No Ghost of a Chance they'd play Cygnus X-1
but books one AND two - they aren't even done
only Intermission
Presto - back with 2112
how far back will they delve
A Passage to Bangkok brings you to Tears
then showing four aspects of their Fears
While Mystic Rhythms start to grow
O Baterista is next, as we all know
YYZ, Working Man both kick ass
Natural Science and then The Pass
Makes The Body Electric and Time Stand Still
knowing you are Here Again of your own Freewill
They Test for Echo seeing all still alive
Red Barchetta makes sure you can drive
Trees stand tall in Cities of Gold that are Seven
swaying themselves under the starry heaven
Limelight shines in La Villa Strangiato
Wish Them Well for it is time to go
But We Hold On....
Malignant Narcissism starts the encore
Spindrifts into The Snow Dog and By-Tor
One can only Hope it's not the last tour
Closer to Your Heart than ever Before(and After)
In the End you know
you are Finding Your Way back home
endlessly rocking
endlessly rocking under starry heavens
As the Caravans travel onwards
riding out into a heartless sea
Remember what, to you, brought these words
Dirk, Lerxst, Pratt, and the lonely letter of E.

When I grow up Daddy…
I want to be just like you
Analytical and strong willed
Better than Isiah and Magic combined
The most mystic magician when I’m handling the pill
You remember your slang, don’t you…
“On the court I’m cold, Bam,” and my favorite “you dig.”
I remember it like yesterday; you know –
Doing our own thing every other weekend
You were that holy grail of knowledge
And I was hooked, receiving it again and again
You delivered an answer for every need
Even when my needs were more wants and desires
In an almost ominous passion
You watched my trials and tribulations transpire
When the flames of life burned too hot
You snatched my ass from the fires
I love you for this
When I grow up Daddy…
I want to radiate strength and character
The same way you did when faced with your most
Trying feat
I hope to stand tall and honorable when –
I am judged and sentenced on my responsibility
Will I look my son in the eye and say the tiring cliché
“Don’t do as I do, son be better than me”
Or will I improve upon the man I am, by correcting my
Transgressions and exhibiting
The true character a responsible father should be
I pray for your wisdom and resilience
To recognize my mishaps, correct them and return to better form
Mistakes are keys, in the continued pursuit to perfection
With each generation perfection’s standards
Are altered and thus reborn
The values you taught in the past are my moral foundation
Some were perfect and some were some-what flawed
Presently for those, I am making alterations
Hopefully, I will instill a more responsible and updated
Version of values for our next generation
Daddy I have grown up…we are similar but very different!
{This was written a few years back when}
As others Rush out from Subdivisions
applying War Paint hiding Scars
All have Grand Designs, their own Missions
you feel as Nobody's Hero watching their fancy cars
What You're Doing more than one can ask
The Way the Wind Blows sends the Good News First
You have a Bravest Face - they a mask
the one, is you blessed - for they are cursed
Paid The Big Money without counting cost
You Bet Your Life if truly A Farewell to Kings
to enter a Twilight Zone and get lost
it's A Far Cry to get Something for Nothing
With The Speed of Love to find your seat
Emotion Detector going crazy
you Stick It Out - await a strong and simple beat
to dance to - and not be lazy
The Available Light dims it's beams
The Main Monkey Business about to start
So far from your Middletown Dreams
to feel a Secret Touch on your heart
Time and Motion are about to Freeze
as Circumstances assume control
Their music brings you to your knees
as it does all in The Larger Bowl
Your Counterparts they feel it too
beyond what The Camera Eye can see
Beneath, Between, and Behind you
like Second Nature - where you want to be
After time most short, when the music stops
and there's only the sound of applause
Aging Dog Years - your heart drops
put into Limbo by a too long pause
Lessons inform you it's just Chemistry
their giving a Marathon of a gig
They've kept Open Secrets under Lock and Key
Show Don't Tell is all they know, you dig
A Sweet Miracle - upon the stage
Heresy - it has to end
know you must Turn the Page
Afterimage - you it sends
into the night
Rocking Under Starry Heavens

POEM " FAREWELL TO A KING " by martin gedge
( RIP NEIL PEART)
Sticks and stones and roll the bones
to the mystic rhythm of your soul
for the banging of the drum in the hearts of everyone
is the beating of the Peart in rock n' roll
and a golden band of rush who would hold a royal flush
in every venue that was strewn across the lands
with inspire to ignite all the fire and limelight
was in power and the quickness of his hands
and the wise and very three with Lifeson, Geddy Lee
made the country of Canada loud and proud
and wherever you would go it's the spirit radio
that showed deep in their music and their crowd
and the journey down the road big Money and the load
the same they came to Fly by every night
their will was free to choose to come up win or lose
and leave a millions candles burning bright
but even closer to the heart in the shadows of the dark
a new world man and victor to us all
so sad to see him go on the pass that we all know
time stands stiill watching heroes as they fall
and so quiet and contain a legend shall remained
onto the stairs that holds a halo ring
like a soldier in the song in the heavens and beyond
his kits a perfect fit to sit a king...

My affirmation deceitfully severed
forever robbed by selfishness
Left to tackle life alone
Tumbling in the wake of my dad's mess
He left when I was three
The crevasse has increased for 33 years
Traded his life with us
For another woman and a couple of beers
He wasn't there to pick me up
When I fell off of my bike
To teach me how to fish
Or enjoy a nature hike
Now I'm a father to my son
Hoping not to make the same mistake
Living day to day on this lake of life
My son in tow through my own wake
It's been nine years and we're going strong
Six more years with my son
That's more with him than I had with mine
My son I guard in a web I've spun
A web of love, discipline, and nurture
Full of "I love you's" and "see ya in the morning"
A kiss before school and one before bed
Lots of playing, talking, reading, and singing
My son doesn't know the pain I feel
To not know my dad in intimate ways
No hands to comfort me or words to heal
No dad in sight for 12,045 days.............................(and counting)
------------------------------------------------------
My son and I have a great relationship and for this I am thankful......
There are so many sounds
That are enjoyed by so many
But the sounds i love most
Are by plectrum or penny
Lindsey Buckingham playing "Go Your Own Way"
Even Joe Perry makes "Walk This Way" say
Eric Clapton and his solo on "Cocaine"
Don Felder with "Hotel California" listening time and time again
Peter Green strumming "Man Of The World"
David Gilmour and Pink Floyd's "Time" the best i have ever heard
Jimi Hendrix with the amazing "Hey Joe"
Alex Lifeson axing "Working Man" in Toronto flow
Pete Townsend from the Who "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Neil Young and his anthem "Like A Hurricane"
George Harrison delights with "Here Comes The Sun"
Kerry Livgren from Kansas state "Carry on Wayward Son"
Tom Scholz of Boston with their "A Man I'll Never Be"
Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin as their "Whole Lotta Love" riffs free
Neal Schon on a Journey "Who's Crying Now"
Nancy Wilson Seattle's Heart "Crazy On You" wows
The sounds you read above, are just my ones of many
Whether they are played by a plectrum, or played by a penny
I did mention above, that i loved Pink Floyd's "Time"
But second to it, is Slash's "Sweet Child of Mine"
Try walking a mile in my shoes,
Before you decide to judge me.
Try doing the things that I do,
You will then find that doing my job is not easy.
Sick or well I manage to drag myself from out of bed,
Often times with sleep still in my eyes.
I see to my son getting dressed and being fed,
I see that he catches the bus on time.
The dishes need to be washed, rinsed, dried, and then put away,
And I need to answer the phone.
Carpets are in need of vacuming, floors in need of mopping,
Lunch needs to be prepared and on the table.
Even though these tasks are in need of accomplishing,
I must face the fact that I am just not able.
I barely have time to take a minute for myself,
There is just so much that needs to be done!
Oh, how I wish someone would come in and lend me some help,
Then all my tasks would be done.
At the end of the day I am exhausted and out on my feet,
But I cannot rest just yet, I must help my son with his homework.
I will be so glad once I am in bed and I am able to get some sleep,
And wake up the next morning and continue my work.
The boy walks past the old man on the bench
Frail and a face of many tales
Young man to old in the cold
Do they see each other as so different
A man that has faced his fears and a man who has his to come
Baby to boy
They played the same
Trains and planes
They laughed they cried
They had a there first love affair
A loving kiss and a love
One has been married for eternity
One has to find his partner of life
Is there really such a differences
What will they do when its there last breath
There last moments will be the same
No differences will be made
Once again the boy becomes man
His first son is born
The man looks down and holds his son dear
A new story to be told as life now unfolds
The boy is now a man with a boy of his own
So the boy is now the man on the bench
His look on his face tells a thousand tales
His weakness shows through his paleness
But still he was a boy to a man ....
He watches as a boy walks past
He smiles and remembers
That man on the same bench
Where did that time go .....
Changing Identities
I was born as a son to my mother and
Grew as brother to my sisters
I gained knowledge as a student and
I moved with my dears as a friend
I rushed behind the money as a worker and
married a girl as her husband
I had sons and daughters as a father and
Chased many businesses as a topper
I had son and daughter in laws as an In law and
followed the words of nobles as a follower
I prayed my lords as a devotee and
hold a stick, wore a glass as an oldman
I was taken as a procession in bed as a body and
burnt in to ashes as a Hasthi
I am now in the air as air
Who am I? My Lord !in this world
Created me with a lot of changing identities
Hasthi is the ash of human body come after funeral it will be mixed with in the
Holy rivers to fulfill the life of a human soul
