Why so much injustice?
(Poem dedicated to the 353.000 innocent victims of the Genocide of Pontus, 1914-1923)
Metal mining deposits in Asia Minor
raised during the second decade of the 20.th century
vital economic interests in Germany,
which had to be urgently satisfied!
So advised the Germans immediately
the Turks to expel, by any means,
all the Greek population out of Pontus.
And therefore, on a cold day, early in the year 1921, in Pontus,
a Greek man was sitting as many decades
of other pontic Greeks like him,
near the gallows
-since 1914 a familiar frightend scene
for thousands of them, indeed...-,
waiting to his death, after one, or two days.
He stayed there, feelling so dazed and stunned,
that everything around him was rotating.
He thought hopeless, having a lump in his throat,
of his children and of his wife, of his parents, of his brothers, of his sisters and of his friends,
while he was vainly looking for a logical answer
to all these reasonable questions:
"Why so much injustice?
Why do they want to kill all of us?
What was wrong with us?".
The only thing, that we can still do,
for all these thousands of poor people now,
is to cry silent and to pray to God,
that they were the last innocent victims
all over around the world, who ought to die,
due to the fact, that the vital economic interests
of the elites must, in any case and at any price,
be fully satisfied!...

How is it that I could be so moronic
To neglect you?
I had you in my arms,
Yet, I let you get away.
Basis, I need you back,
Yet, presently it's past the point of no return.
I've proactively bid farewell,
Furthermore, presently love has gone to despise.
Francis I need to travel once more into the past
Also, fix all that wasn't right,
Change the entirety of my second thoughts
So we didn't battle as lengthy.
The second thoughts wrecked it,
Furthermore, they were all my issue.
I was so youthful;
I ought to have behaved like a grown-up.
I made my own extremely upset
Whenever I left you.
Presently it's past the point of no return,
What's more, I can't fix.
Basis I actually love you,
In any case, no one knows
We are at this point not together
Due to what I picked.
It was a terrible choice,
What's more, presently I need you here.
Never far away,
Continuously close.
So if it's not too much trouble, take me back,
What's more, get me when I fall
Because I want you at this moment
More than anything by any means.
Basis how about we resolve it
We revamp it once more
Premise how about we settle our
Distinction and reignite
Our adoration once more.
I want to do something different,
Something which has life
Not to mug up the facts
Which add to strife
I want to fly like a bird
In this unlimited sky,
To spread my wings in
& to touch every part of the sky
I want to be like a mermaid,
I want to feel the depth,
The cold water will swift
me to places so that i
learn to face an undertow, right or left
I want to be like myself,
The way I am,
To stand unique in
The crowd, not running
In the ratrace
I dream of bells that
Keep ringing,telling me
Its merry time
Even if its not,I try to think of it
And move towards the chime
I want to feel the fresh
Rain drop on my face,
The splash which marks
The starting of new things,
The shower that clears everything,
and it comes in my mind too,in any case
it is not that I am afraid
of hardships or noships
but work,but all
I need is a spark to do it
This spark is what
I am looking for,to
Ignite me to fuel my
Rocket to jet to my lovely dreams…….
Wow, a 2nd camping trip,
Now please don’t flip,
How on earth did I agree,
After the snake and me,
My husband asked so nicely,
And explained precisely
Where we would go,
Not to the bush,
Where a snake lay in ambush!
So hitched up our boat,
To take to Loskop dam
It was the Easter weekend,
Campers began to descend,
We arrived it was almost night,
Hubby sent up our 5 star camp site,
Started our braai late,
Which was to be my embarrassing fate!
We ate heartily and enjoyed
A cariff of wine,
During our campsite dine.
Time for a shower,
Take note of our campsite number
Hubby said, for they all look alike
At night,
And please take this empty
Bottle and fill it with water.
Showered, filled the bottle,
Nervous, had to find the ablutions
in the dark,
Carrying a full bottle that looked like wine,
I got strange looks, wanted to scream
It isn’t mine,
And in any case,
This bottle has no wine!
Each camp site looked the same,
To find my husband was my only aim!
It was an embarrassing situation,
All I felt was a feeling of desolation!
Thought each Range Rover was ours,
I might as well have been on Planet Mars,
It felt as if I had been away hours!
Had not even taken my phone
Had to stop at a camp side and asked
If I could please loan
Their cell to make a call,
That is when I tripped and had a fall,
I called my husband in tears,
He realized immediately what had happened,
Which was one of his fears,
Came and helped me up,
As he was only two camp sites away,
It was my pride that was hurt,
Especially when a passing camper began to flirt,
This was going to be my last camping trip ever,
I exclaimed to hubby, a little pert!

Assuming you're solid yesterday,
You're solid consistently.
The previous makes us more grounded.
It doesn't make us more vulnerable.
The previous cause us to understand
That we're superior to this.
Past is only a period,
In any case, it won't ever be missed.
This will be extreme,
Be that as it may, time will mend.
Maybe another life
Will then uncover.
You are not new
To this entire game.
You did your absolute best with.
You're not to fault
Try not to cry over
What you have had.
Basically you had it.
Try not to be miserable.
This will be extreme,
However, time will mend.
Maybe another life
Will then uncover.
The hardest thing
There is to do
Is love somebody
Who doesn't adore you.
It worth the effort is as well?
What's to acquire
At the point when you love somebody
Who brings you torment?
Simply leave
What's more, stand up tall.
Remember your good fortune,
Everytime opportunity
Knocks at your door.
On my morning walk, which is
Adjacent to the river,
A small surprise is sometimes what
The city does deliver.
So yesterday, I heard a thump,
Metallic, so I slowed,
Expecting that a hubcap flew
From somewhere on the road.
Instead, I saw a sewer cover
Quaking as it rose
And crashed back down above a spot
Where the East River flows.
Thought number 1: a creature
Would be rising from the deep
And then his scaly self into
My neighborhood would creep.
Thought number 2: a prisoner
(Like “Shawshank”) would break free
Because from Rikers Island
There’s a chance that it could be.
Thought number 3: the river (high)
Would suddenly erupt
And shoot that cover skyward
In a manner most abrupt.
In any case, I hurried on
Without a backward glance,
Not willing, having had those thoughts,
To take the slightest chance.
t started about a fortnight ago, I think, I began to hear bells ringing. They sound as if they are coming from far away. I listen carefully, and yes, it is exactly the same sound I heard when I was a child. One winter day I was riding in a sleigh pulled by a pony in the botanical garden, and I remember the jingle of bells on the sleigh's shafts. I felt blissful pleasure, unclouded by a single thought. I was five or six years old, I don't remember exactly. I’m not the type of person who is immersed in the past, like Marcel Proust, and I’m not particularly fond of childhood memories. But memories do not ask when they should appear; they simply intrude into one's current life, and always without any apparent reason. I go into the kitchen to wash the dishes and put the kettle on, and I hear the enchanting sound of bells ringing from somewhere far away in the corridor. Of course, there is nothing like bells in the corridor, or anywhere else in the flat. But why do I hear this sound? Can’t understand it. The only thing I understand is that it is unlikely to be a coincidence. Perhaps the ringing of bells means something that I have missed or failed to notice? Most likely, something is happening to me that I am unaware of – but I could've guessed if I had been more attentive. Unfortunately, attentiveness is not my strong suit; I've never been observant, especially when it comes to myself. I have yet to discover why I hear the bells. I expect that the explanation will come naturally, and it will satisfy me in any case. I don't intend to delve into this issue, study it, investigate the cause, and so on. A hint will suffice.
When is ‘Almost Good Enough’
never good enough?
When is ‘Clearly Not Enough’
an ounce more than enough?
When is ‘Almost What You Need’
the most you’ll ever have?
When is ‘It’s Not Only That’
the only thing that’s left?
When is ‘In Almost Every Case’
not in any case at all?
When is ‘In Lieu Of Everything Else’
the thing sure to be missed?
When is ‘In Actuality’
in real terms actually not?
When is ‘To Be Perfectly Honest With You’
the biggest lie you’ll hear?
When is the serious ‘Last Ditch Effort’
the one you continue to try?
When is the ‘Absolute Final Time’
the one you repeat again?
When is ‘Really’ not real at all
and spoken then in vain?
When is ‘Probably’ not probable
or even close to that?
When is the phrase ‘The Bottom Line’
the top of your agenda?
When is the trusted ‘Old College Try’
strictly out of school?
When is ‘Painstakingly Difficult’
the easiest thing you do?
When is ‘No Sweat—The Deal Is Done’
so much harder than before?
When is ‘Let’s Start At The Beginning’
the end of the debate?
When is ‘The Last Word On The Matter’
the beginning of what comes next?
When is ‘So What’ a euphemism
for the most important things you do?
When is ‘It Is What It Is’
categorically not, and never will be?
When is ‘The Bull In The China Shop’
ceramic and for sale?
When is the celebratory ‘Victory Lap’
the one taken in disgust?
When is the magical ‘Three Point Shot’
four points more than its worth?
When is the special ‘Love You Lost’
the only one you’ve never found?
When is the figurative ‘Bird In Hand’
the one that flies away?
When is ‘Bantering Back And Forth’
the silence you extol?
When will your words line with copper wire
to conduct the truth unrobbed
When will you cease to pander and mislead
—naked before the mob

An angry squawking sound outside
Disturbed the rural peace.
I thought some crazy bird was perched,
His cry a mad release.
Instead, I stared a squirrel down;
His tail was all a'twitch
As he emitted clucking sounds
At quite a fevered pitch.
Between each dozen chirrups,
He let out a plaintive moan.
The message, loud and clear to me,
Was "Leave my turf alone!"
In all my years I never have
Encountered such a creature.
The real surprise was learning
Squirrels had that vocal feature.
I wondered if perhaps he had
A scary case of rabies;
Or possibly, he was a she,
Protecting squirrel babies.
In any case, I went inside
And left him to his squawking.
I hope he'll scamper far away
Before I go out walking!
