SPRING
spring springing in zing,
abloom blossom blazing bright,
redolence in air.
spring sings song of love,
birds whistle, croon in cadence.
flitting butterflies.
soft sun shimmering
spring gust chasing rusty dust,
pollen to swirl, twirl.

Tropical summer
a somnolent pond daydreams
in spite of the storm
Tropical bummer
a cool, noisy pool dazzles
in spite of the swarm
Tropical drummer
a quiet puddle dances
in spite of the sloth

Teeming surface
a lurking panda daydreams
in spite of the scream
Tortuous swamp
a hot, noisy fly plots
to spit on the snark
Turbulent duet
a flying saxophone schemes
to smite the serpent

Author notes
Haiku, traditionally of nature but now contemporary tends to be accepted. Many confuse the
5-7-5 structure to mean syllable, it's not it means beat. Counts are guide only and as few as
you can get away with to lead with two lines and reveal with the other. A haiku is three lines
but several -usually three can be joined to make a chain these should stand alone as well as
in chain. There are other takes on haiku which have slight variation on the form.
