is it Goth? Celtic? what is her story I asked my eager brother
He wanted to go there on Hallows Eve, but did not invite our mother
Ghouls, goblins, ghosts and gremlins have been seen there
There might be vampires or cricket bats lingering in the air
a witch or two might be stirring a cauldron bright
we don’t know what to expect on this rare night
I thought it odd he did not mention book or a story
But decided to go because I am my brother’s sister, Glory
around the corner I saw an open book with sitting creature
she gave me the evil eye, with a gruesome face, an evil creature
it is a baby bat, my brother said, no reason to worry
But then we heard scratching and scratching, and something scurry
the bat transmogrified into a vampire with evil intent
spilled the cup of tea, and proved he was not heaven-sent
We ran out screaming, my brother and I
I yelled really loud “I thought I’d die!”
Then I noticed my brother had not made it out
I could hear him screaming as he was thrown about.
A Monster in My Closet
There’s a monster in my closet
He’s looking right at me;
His eyes glow red – his teeth are green;
He’s as scary as can be.
There’s an ogre in the corner
I know for sure he’s there;
I can smell his breath from here
And see his slimy hair.
There’s a gremlin behind my chair,
Growling like a beast;
Slowly now he creeps toward me;
Someone stop him please!
There's a giant river troll
Underneath my bed;
Snorting, drooling, hiding there -
I think his name is Fred?!
There’s a creature on my ceiling
Hanging from one claw;
Waiting just to pounce on me
With his grimy paws.
There’s phantom at my desk
Silent as can be,
Hovering up in the air,
Giant as a big oak tree.
There’s a goblin at my window
Trying to get in;
Tapping on the windowpane;
I see his sneering grin.
My mother comes to check on me;
She sees my fear, my fright;
Sitting on my bed she says:
“Turn on the light!”
Poetry is putting emotions down in verse
Good for those that cannot converse
I don't think I'm very good
But it keeps me out of the lonely wood
The lonely wood is a very sad place
The gremlins and ghouls change your face
It's dark and dank very austere
Poetry is my voice I hope you hear
I write my poems they lead me away
From the woods its a bad place to play
The dark and smell gets into your mind
You can't see your going blind
Writing let's me see the light
Helps me to feel alright
I know it's only a small fix
Better than surrounded by sticks
So when I hurt or don't understand
A pen and paper comes to hand
It helps me see what I need to do
Pulls me out of feeling so blue
It may not work for everyone
Some listen to their favorite song
But this poetry thing for me
Clears all of my aniexty
Yes some may say it's in the mind
Solutions to help are hard to find
This is the one that I find best
Gets all the hurt off my chest
So when you don't know where to turn
Keep out of them woods or you will burn
Find your release in your safe place
Help you put the smile on your face
Believe in your own self is a must
Otherwise you'll end up like dust
No one deserves to feel like that
Conquer those demons bury that hat
Feel free to say whatever is on the mind
To yourself try to be kind
Don't let it beat you up anymore
It's your _LIFE_ not a chore
I hope this helps someone out there
Because people are people some do care
If it has feel free to say
Let other know what's you way
Skeletons hang from family trees
Swinging in closets we don't see
Attention drawn to rattling bones
As memories dance and gremlins groan
Scratching an itch of dark pretend
Beckoning demons echo within
The thread of life, a toxic pin
To sew on garments made of skin
On dusty saddles or plain bareback
Monkeys ride a bloody track
Whip and spur a savage attack
In weakened moments as will power slacks
With reddened face, a chemical air
Rushes the body and tickles the hair
The stomach knots, the brain impaired
Demonic angels arrive to share
In numbing sleep at gallop pace
The mouth is dry from just a taste
A stuporous madness in mindless haste
While skeletons laugh right in your face

An original poem by the "poemdog" Daniel Turner
Faerie Gran asleep high up on a blue shelf.
Gremlins had messed things up with Obo their funny elf.
Washing dishes with her faerie dancing feet
PreSage Blue Sweet Faerie could keep a lively beat.
Mama of this family had finally gone to bed.
She was truly exhausted, sleeping like the grateful dead.
On her plate were two children, the oldest barely three.
Mama needed her rest, so we were as quiet as we could be.
We had tiptoed through the garden, flown above the gate.
Faerie Gran had cautioned us, so none of us were late.
White Pure Sister Faerie was consoling Baby Faerie now,
He had pricked his thumb on a needle and was putting up a row.
Soap bubbles began serenading us in their rainbow way.
We were having delightful fun, for cleaning is our play.
Faerie Gran fell off the shelf, before we were completely done.
Her wings kept her in the air, which added to our wholesome fun.

Gremlins come out in the night
on cold little feet,
searching through our houses for
places with some heat.
Some nights we do laundry, and
right before we sleep,
our clothes are put in dryers.
That’s when gremlins creep. . .
Creep inside that nice warm place
where we’ve put our clothes.
Then they sort through all our things.
What do you suppose?
Well, they love to find our socks
since their feet are cold!
And they grab a few of them,
or so I’ve been told!
Seeing not too well in dark
as those gremlins do,
they take mismatched socks and leave
us mismatched ones too!

Why Do Dryers Eat Our Socks?
The Brigade of Gremlins

The class for cyber soldiers of brigade of mine
All around the house, in the dead of night.
Peering through the window panes, keeping out of sight.
Lurking in the corners, away from candle light.
Hiding in the dark then giving me a fright.
Were shadows of a witch, and her scary creepy cat.
Followed by hob goblins, with a blood thirsty bat.
So many lurid shadows dancing on the wall.
For tonight is when lost spirits, answer the call.
While stepping outside, unsteady on my feet.
Two green eyed little gremlins, shouted trick or treat.
As the graveyard gates were creaking, and opening wide.
Dead bodies were staggering and crawling outside.
They once were Jack-o'- Lanterns but when they died,
Denied by Hell and Heaven, they seek somewhere to hide.
When their outstreched hands touched me, i began to scream.
And then i woke up, it was a nightmares dream.
So now, i need reality,to not be so obscene.
For the day after tomorrow, it will be Halloween.

Happiness comes in many forms
Remember the thrill of your first born
How could you have known at the time
The challenge of keeping things in line
Sometimes seemed too much to bare
Many obstacles, more than your share
Finally you make it all the way through
Hard to replace that joy you knew
Now life's taken on a whole new look
Your zest for living's like an open book
A positive attitude goes a long long way
To help get you through the darkest days
Don't let gremlins get under my skin
Tell them. “Get lost, you evil twins!”
Life seems like the Himalayas at times
Stop and think, is it worth the climb?
You can bet your sweet bippy it is, my friend
There's nothing more rewarding in the end
Than a life all filled with laughter and joy
Just like Christmas and a brand new toy
Happiness comes in many forms
Remember make “happy” always the norm
Life is over and done way to soon
Live it to the fullest, sing happy tunes!

Gremlins are in my tooth today
Chipping it out causing decay.
The ache is getting much more worse
My bottom tooth hurts where they lurk.
Can hear those critters laugh and play
Jaw and neck aches more everyday.
Strong painkillers don't help ease it away
The gremlins deeper digging is well under way.
They channel a tunnel toward the root
These tiny things are merciless brutes.
The gremlin grim fairy waits nearby
I'm on the verge of wanting to cry.
The gremlins spread their infectious rot
Taking over with their uninvited squat.
A visit to the dentist is my only hope
If it goes on much longer I shan't cope.
Sitting back in his chair he shines a light
They screamed I swear, it serves them right.
Antibiotics is the first course of action
And told I won't need a tooth extraction.
I am relieved and happy, maybe a little smug
I can beat these gremlins teeth robbing bugs.
Drilling and a filling was done a week later
I'm grateful and thankful to my tooth saving saviour.
