55 My 11th Leaf

55.

My 11th Leaf

Rended thee from herb

Released from thy curb

Curative floral

Sure medicinal

“Kalamantigue”!

Our neighbor nearest

Uncle for me best

Tatay's next brother

To me godfather

Nice Dudoy Etic

This night near nine, ten

This day – eleven

This month – eleven

This year - eleven

Brown-out, full moon bright

Dudoy Etic's fence

Outside adjacence

Rare luminescence

Utter silence

Almost front gate's door

Enroll I finish

MAT English

Salingsing polish

Begin fitness wish

Saw Iglot first last!

Hello life, and welcome to my world I invite you to stay here as long as you can To do so, you must fight sickness and ignorance, just to name two. Even so, your time will come to an end.

Premium Member Rhymes With Pathetic

By nature, zetetic,
he doubted the yetic,
but xenogenetic? That just seemed absurd.
A known workaholic,
scoured feeds from Videtics,
but was unsympathetic, in a word.
At best, theoretic,
and in large part, synthetic,
only the rabietic were on board.
Tilting towards quixotic,
their fevered ravings, phrenetic,
though onomatopoetic,
eschewed the noetic, impaled themselves on truth’s sword.
A parrot’s mimetic,
much like Loch Ness limnetics,
ignored body kinetics,
claimed pre-Japhetic disperse.
Yet still more idiotic,
seizing the hypothetic,
their case for genetics made worse!
But like all true fanatics,
the more so, emphatic,
they're left with a docetic sasquatch.
Finding all copasetic,
they get rather bathetic
when antithetic folk question their watch!

----------

So, the original goal was a monorhyme using the '-etic' ending.
Then, I realized I might be able to use one on every line, from Z..A,
but I made a few concessions along the way, departing from '-etic' a few times.
And I added a little rhyme, using the '-etic' words within the lines...
And if the storyline is a little thin, don't wreck my aesthetic...

zetetic - skeptical, proceeding by inquiry
yetic - pertaining to all things Yeti :-)
Videtics is a real company that does AI analysis of video feeds
rabietic - relating to rabies
limnetics - pertaining to the deeper, open waters of a lake
Japhetic - pertaining to one of Noah's sons, so, basically, antediluvian
docetic - an early heresy suggesting only a spiritual body
bathetic - effusively emotional

231 My 39th Leaf

231.

My 39th Leaf

Obtained thee from branch

Broken from its trunk

Fallen on the land

From a sturdy tree

“Indian Mango” leaf!

Owned by our neighbor

Gabo family

Doministo too

I'm with our neighbors

Watching vestiges

At three-thirty five

Of dark afternoon

Just after the storm

Weaker winds blowing

Fewer rains dropping

In front of the house

Of Dudoy Etic

Other side road

On way to river

From a branch fallen

Great devastation

Brought by a typhoon

A super typhoon

Labelled “Yolanda”

Marked in history!

Premium Member Poe-Etic Ghosts

Through misty darkness, like wanton dreams,
are voices in the seasons…
Foreboding words of reason's self,
are heard while I am sleeping

Forbidden shadows hover 'round,
keeping secrets, buried long
Stirring up those restless ghosts
gray and black, with spirits, blithe,
to host the pitch of night

The hand that sweeps the locks away
is the one I cannot feel
The eyes that feast upon my face
erases what is real

Those echoed voices mingle
in corners dark as umber
And all the words I've never known
have climbed into my slumber
