Premium Member A Whisper In Devil's Ear

As a lotus raises its head to receive the sun rays
I wait expectantly for my Lord's whisper in my ears.
In the forms of Satan or tempter, evil has its ways.
Amidst my fears, it enters my spheres and wishes me cheers.

Whispers between blossoms and flies are secret and sacred.
Agape of give and take are amalgamated in them.
What else can the ways of the devil be except hatred?
They deceive as the fading colours of petals and stem.

I'll give you the world and wonders, he says, as though they're his.
Can I take these with me when I pass through the cave of my grave?
Each moment of my existence has been a baffling quiz
His whispers would enslave me while the divine grace would save.

A tree might listen to the voices of both storm and breeze.
Though they bear the sounds of storms, does any tree feel at ease?

Premium Member Follow the Laughter

This should be a sad place
There are no playgrounds, schools
One tap for an intire village

Their toys are rocks and sticks
There is a skinny goat running beside them
I hear laughter such sweet laughter
running jumping squeals of delight
bright smiles beaming
So much unadulterated joy
chasing shadows on dusty ground
The slapping of bare feet
No Nike's or Air Jordans to aid their flight
Happiness in a place where none should exist

This should be a happy place
Playgrounds, schools
A bathroom for almost every room in the house
No need to share more than enough

Toys, computers, smartphones
Lonely dog sits in corner chewing his bone
Children texting
Tired from all their programs
What if they don't get into the right schools?
Futures planned
Present planned to the last remaining second
Fast tracked to depression
Don't dissapoint Mom and Dad
Best coaches, best teachers, best clothes
Anything they desire
Listen, listen
Where is the laughter
Who else is part of their tribe
who cares if you live or die
Sadness in a place where none should exist
We think we are the fortunate ones
Still where is the laughter beyond the painted smiles

What Is Wrong With the World Today

What is wrong with the world today
So many people have lost their way
Led in all the wrong directions
While losing the one on one connection

With emotions from real human beings
Only responding with the days trending memes
Obsessing over their likes and views
Censorship rights that are being abused

The media’s fueling the chaos and lies
Riots on the streets when a criminal dies
Disease spreading worldwide like the plague
The only thing being said about it is vague

The world is more divided than ever before
Conflicting countries on the verge of war
Voter fraud elections current president
Still don’t know exactly what he meant

People don’t know if they are girls or boys
Blindly going along with all the democratic ploys
To fund other countries and to try and make us weak
The next few years in our country seems bleak

Gas prices rising, along with the unemployment rate
There’s no need to work when you're living off the state
Free money for rent and good food on your plate
Only have till the 1st of the month to wait.

Slowly coming out of the COVID quarantine
It seems so unreal, it feels just like a dream
People wearing masks over their mouths and noses
Small businesses failing so that their door closes

Unable to support their families
Because we all know money don’t grow on trees
No support for the military, but all for refugees
Someone make this world stop spinning please

Queens in school reading to your child’s class
My kid don’t need to know what goes in your ass
Gay pride parades going down the street
Trampling the values that lay dead at their feet

Americas days are now filled with chaos
We all know that Biden is not really the boss
Somebody else is pulling all the strings
Who really knows what our future brings

People are calling to defund the police
But doing so will never bring us peace
Life is crazy now, it don’t make no damn sense
America was better with Trump as president

My husband challenged me to write a rap, so I did. this is just my opinion, everyone has that right, no offense intended.

Forgotten Nostalgia

I’ve tried to fall asleep
And forget what we were.
What we had doesn’t matter
If you’re not here to share the moments.

What if I never told you?
Would we still be together
Or would our relationship
Still fall apart in the storm?

Thoughts of you flood my mind,
And for some reason, they still hurt.
Shouldn’t memories of you make me smile?
Why is it pain that lingers?

I want to tell you how much you hurt me,
But maybe that would be childish
It wouldn’t bring you back,
Just push us further apart.

We could’ve loved each other till ninety,
Or split and hated each other at twenty three.
What if I went through the same thing
With someone else?

Would I feel this heartbroken over you?
What if I swiped right and moved on?
Maybe I wouldn’t be in this dilemma.
Maybe I wouldn’t know what love looks like.

I resent you and I love you.
I thank you and I blame you.
You showed me what I want in someone
And how I need to carry myself from here.

I’ll miss you.
And I hope, one day,
We can be friends again.

Premium Member A 7-Letter Word

May it not be uttered and may my lips be sealed. I don't like how it makes me feel. It gives no thrill. It has no appeal. So often, it does not heal and seldom closes the deal. Early this morning, I took the time to record a few lines of muse about a word I don't like to use.

I have often thought about the people I have met and the places I have roamed and made my home over the last 50 years. Many are the things, people, and places that have proven to be most disappointing and have wearied, worn me out, and caused me doubts. There've Been dejections, rejections, and questions, but as I look back, I see no regrets.

I have used a 7-letter word so often that it has become a dreadful thing to consider its usefulness. I should think that heaven is the only place such a word is forever forbidden. Presently, that word is NOT WHAT I'M SAYING to you, you, or anyone else and hope to never find it necessary. But if by chance or providence it should be used relative to anyon9 Ie, it would be among the hardest words I ever uttered to living mortals. I've been as far east as the Big Apple but not to stay; and forty years ago, I came with my wife and kids to live in the City by the Bay. I hasten to say that I've never lived longer nor loved stronger than here in the River City where I only want to say the the 2 lettered word 'Hi' but never the 7 lettered
woord, "Goodbye". I can say "Hi" with a smile, but "Goodbye" only makes me cry.

People say that home is where your story begins, but I've never been one to be bound by what others might say. I only know that the place where I was born was never home to me. I tell you, I did not have to look long and far nor think Hard and deep to figure out whom I might blame for the calm, peace, and poise that I am feeling where I live today. Yes, there is something very special about the people and this place where I'm living today that feels like home to me, and I suspect that The Lord has everything to do with it.

Premium Member Dweller of the heart

this form is dust yet moves as though it’s alive
propelled by God’s breath, divine spark in our heart
too subtle to find so it’s useless to strive
unless we’re still causing ego to depart
and melding head with heart, flame of love revive
prayer on our lips being the way to start
with resolve and patience finding soul’s essence
living light eternal, our pure quintessence

having known now who we are nothing is gained
since whether we know or not, we are the Self
but having garnered wisdom, soul is unchained
and no fears or desires remain on our shelf
our childlike heart again pristine and unstained
trusting God fully as life flows by itself
poised in peace at all times in heart’s play station
viewing life’s a dreamlike manifestation

as a dweller of the void, beyond space-time,
one with God in a singularity field
bereft of attributes, no peaks left to climb
infinite is the power we therein wield
yet free from desire, we’re engrossed in love’s chime
acting spontaneously, needing no shield
self-existent in the splendour of our light
with time dissolved peace replacing bliss delight

Self is consciousness labels cannot define
being that wherefrom the universe arose
yet in pulse dual too found when we align
head and heart with love, the fragrance of a rose
causing nodes in form with bliss beats to align
accomplished whilst we yet remain in repose
wherein all we need to do is vaporise
that thus in doing so, God we realise

deeper yet within, truth of Self we pursue
recognising consciousness that’s absolute
a bright darkness from which nothing can break through
beyond all realms and music of Krishna’s flute
tightly packed energy known to sages few
yet we are That for it is our very root
one without a second, nothing else exists
known when we abandon ego’s to-do lists

Living For a Purpose

Awakening from dreamy fantasies,
Equal to departing birds from their nest
When prime rays of sun wake up Earth.

Towards exploration of world,
Voyaging out of customary dwelling,
For explicit proficient life.

Forging purpose of composure,
Innumerable entities subsisted
Just exceptional brought in unique.

Pitching a plausible promising goal,
Actions parallel to specific endeavour,
A journey worth traversing through.

Determination of particular direction,
Advancing tenacious spirit,
An arrow shot halts only at aim.

What else signifies living,
When scant nature nurtures all,
One has to opt from diverging routes.

Premium Member Wandering, Not Lost

At first glance of this writing opportunity, I thought about COVID-19 related matters. I thought about the pain and suffering that have been inflicted by COVID-19. I'm aware of how many lives have been altered; but they are bouncing back. However, I decided that at least for now, I do not wish to write about COVID-19.

So in stead, I began to muse upon subject matters surrounding my country.
It seems such a fitting description of what we are presently experiencing.
For example, for generations, most people in the world have liked America.
Even with the many changes, there's no end to the flood of people wanting "in".

What is more disturbing to me is the way "we' are beginning to feel about ourselves. There is nothing wrong with "inward looks and observations" for self improvement. I hope I'm wrong, but I sense that we are loathing who we are and desiring a "new us". We are wandering in a huge wilderness of redefinitions with too many mirrors; too few windows.

In such a 'mirrored wilderness', one tends to look inward, finding more dislikes or even self-hatred. Of course, the nature of Americanism suggests that we are one of a kind, a work in progress. But it appears this Juncture of Change  is 'over the top' and if not careful, we could self-destruct. Wandering, yes;
dark and devious challenges, yes; but presently, I think not that we are lost sheep. We are not yet lost because there is a 'God Presence' still at work and a foundation yet in tact.

Some years ago, I came upon a baby sparrow in a parking lot. I picked him up, rescuing him out of harm's way. Not knowing what else to do, I lifted and released him to the sky, and the little birdy flew away. Whether America or your own country, you and I are among the ones to do the rescuing. May
we keep praying and believing for our great country. As I see it, the eagle is still flying.

Premium Member What Does Your Heart Need

If you follow someone else ‘s idea of what you should do
You might well become upset or enraged over the tiniest of slights
If you seem always depressed or mad,
your soul
Might be is urging you forward
in a new direction of your own choosing.

Begging you to take a leap of faith,
To figure out what your heart needs
To become happy.
What you needed was there all along,

Happily waiting to be discovered
Knowing if not in this lifetime
Then in another
So do not lose sleep over being

Angry or mad for unknown reasons.
Your essence understands.

If you pray or meditate
Or build a fire or stare
Into a candle
Your soul has an opportunity
To let you know what is wrong.

It is only in genuine quieting of
Self that you can progress
Forward and find your bliss.

We all have a mission.
Once completed the love
You deserve will encompass you
And bring you to new heights

We call it heaven

A Mothers Love Part 2

A mothers love is something nothing else can quite compare
a mothers love that's for her sonThere's nothing stronger is there?

Mom, my love for you is something That can never be undone
There is no love that is stronger than that of a mother and her son
I know you and Dad sacrificed for me There's so much you went without
So my little bro and me could have. You showed us love, without a doubt

My love for you it started, long before you took your first breath
Each day has made it stronger It's grown, even after your death.
A mothers love has made me stronger than I'd ever thought I could be.
And when I feel your spirit close I feel the love you have for me

And in my opinion momma, I couldn't have asked for more
I feel how much you love me, momma, Even in death it has endured.
My journey here upon this earth Was shorter than I thought it'd be
It soon became my time to go, It was part of the plan, you see.

A mothers love Is something that can never be undone
No matter which mistakes are made You'll forever be my son

I am so sorry that I hurt you And for all the mistakes I've made
For betraying the trust you had in me And for not choosing the right way.

A mothers love is something nothing else can quite compare
a mothers love that's for her child. There's nothing stronger is there?

Cry the tears you need to Momma, For I'll be right there with you
I'll wrap my wings around you, momma, I'll send you my love too
Mom, my love for you is something That can never be undone
There is no love that is stronger than that of a mother and her son.
