Northside of a sleepy Okie town,
Red lipstick on, head held down.
Haunt trailer parks and smoky dives,
Broken dreams meet reckless lives.
Every step she takes, barely alive,
Chasing lowlifes like they’re a prize.
A spark in his eyes she can't resist,
A normal heart hidden in the mist.
Teased him rough, chasing despair,
Plays hard to get, like she even cares.
She’s just trash (oh-yeah),
And she’s a loser.
Haunt the streets where she belongs,
Trades her body, sees nothing wrong
Caught in chaos, wearing that smile
Girl, can’t you see you’re in denial.
She’s an echo in a hole-in-the-wall bar,
Love's a game, she is a dimly lit star.
Gives herself to addicts and abused;
Shuns the one who would see her through.
And last time she was down on hope
He saw her hustling for a piece of dope!
Don’t act like you're a friend of mine;
Pain she caused, an art deco design
Scars my soul.
She can’t be saved,
She’s just trash (oh-yeah),
She’s just trash (set me free),
And she’s a loser.
Haunt streets where she belongs,
Trades her body, sees nothing wrong.
Caught in chaos, wears a joker smile
Can’t you see? Girl you are in denial.
Touch a stove and feel the fire;
**** on her back, promise a liar.
She’s still trash (stop looking at me),
She’s still trash (stop talking to me),
She’s still trash (stop touching me ),
There’s no hope for her!
Haunt the streets hunting the poor
Bums and addicts, increase her score
There’s just ashes, she is so fake
Time is up, that’s the breaks
She’ll always be trash... but we…
Emancipation From The Afterthought
Fastidious Faustian bargains that never seem to cease
Delirious young drug addicts who never seem to sleep
Insidious theories of conspiracy
about the recently deceased
Deciduous canopies of melancholy that fade by finding time for peace
Berated by the belligerence of a youthful propagandist
Conflated schools of the illiterate surrounded by a contrabandist
Sedated fools sit in their indifference as people suffer without bandwidth
Translated by the considerate thoughts elevated by the grandest
Monumental obstacles overcome through resilient defiance
Experimental genetic strands expand the reach of science
Temperamental mathematical minds define the times without reliance
Non judgemental psychologists are inclined to embracing the latest neuroscience
Calculations of misfortunes are inevitable in many a tragic instance encountering truth
Palpitations of a heart that’s retrospectively regretting its misspent youth
Amalgamations of the studious kinds forgetting to eschew the intellectually uncouth
Configurations of the coping masses mis-gendering the proof
Opinions always rife and flawed expressed without thought for feeling
Dominions of the highest energetic scores enforce and leave me reeling
Minions of a military force are subjugated without healing
While self opinion rules the internet I stand bereft and look back up toward the ceiling

The Alcoholic in Your Life
Might be the dirty man in the gutter,
Or your mate, so loaded he can only stutter.
She might be the loudmouth at the bar,
Or the woman who almost died, wrecking her car.
Sadly, could be your father or mother.
Cousin, aunt, sister or beloved brother.
Ages of addicts are no longer fifty.
Some eleven year olds, sneak drink at home, they think it's nifty.
Alcoholism begins in denial, first by the drinker,
Then, the fellow deniers: friends and family, too.
Unable to see where this might have a fatal end.
Our society so worked up over fentanyl and shrooms,
We scoff at them throwing the drug, alcohol, up in our bathrooms.
We've yet to understand all alcohol is a dangerous drug,
I know, not you~you really are not addicted.
Many die of this disease each day, deadly conflicted.
Call yourself blessed, if this disease you do not have.
Please do not laugh at these unfortunate blokes.
See that they get the help they need~
Stop kvetching over second hand smoke.
Alcoholics come in all shapes and sizes.
Attorneys, doctors, Hollywood, too.
Love needed urgently, not arrogant and unforgiving surmises!
Panagiota Romios

That big house was built in the seventeen century when the faith in God was strong,
it told many stories of men with bruised hands and chiseled faces;
they built it with craft and embellished it with stained-glass windows;
girls in their pretty black dresses looked outside and contemplated sunsets for long.
I bumped into a frail woman leaning on a cane, she stared at it with much emotion
and sobbing, " Their youth is wasted, They are the orphans rejected by society! "
" Why is it so? " I asker her puzzled." They should be adapted by somebody
and get out of there before they are too old! " Her voice expressed a great concern.
And looking in those tearfull eyes I answered her, " I must disagree! "
" Do you want them to be entrusted to strangers who won't love them as
their parents? " Parents! They have none! They are the daughters of drug addicts! "
She raised her voice which showed anger while she rubbed her injured knee.
" Madam, why are you crying? Does someone dear to you live there? I questioned
her improvising the answer. " My granddaughter ! My poor granddaughter! "
I continued the conversation " Is it a children's care center?" She solemnly replied
wiping her flowing tears with a soft tissue, " It's an orphanage! It's real hell for her! "
The friendly woman told me a story a few people knew: the story of that forgotten
orphanage where newborn were taken in by nuns who did it for love, not for gain;
" On Cherry Road, this house is looked down as a scourge! Sins of their mothers!
Why don't they go to visit them, hug them and give them Christmas presents? "
What causes crime? What’s the root cause?
Is it poverty’s weight or the system’s flaws?
Is it rebels rising against unjust fate?
Can social programs soften hate?
Lopez Obrador headed Mexico
He said "lets hug the thugs, not act like a foe"
Then 150 thousand innocents met their ends
And his party, Morena, made new bad guy friends.
"The breakdown of family" says William Barr
leads to more gangs, and juveniles going too far
He argues you can't make social ills cease
Unless you first have safety and peace.
Mothers in the projects prayed kids wouldn’t die,
Bathtubs were cradles when bullets flew by.
One woman spent months sleeping under her bed:
But bad ideas resurrect like the undead.
Does poverty cause crime, or the reverse?
Businesses leave danger, unemployment gets worse
A man tried rehabbing homes, it was well meant
Addicts ripped out the pipes; he never saw rent.
To give social programs a chance to work
You have to find where the criminals lurk
If a repeat offender feels the pain:
hundreds of crimes don't happen again.
Not every criminal is a good boy gone bad
Not every criminal is a rebel gone mad
Some people are nasty—it’s just how they’re made;
If you don’t stop them early, the problems won’t fade.
There's plenty of good neighborhoods that became a slum
If you clean out the crime, that could be undone.
Mayor Mamdani of New York wants to defund the police
His voters won't end up with justice or peace.
Then they'll run to Texas or Tennessee
And vote for the same policies that made them flee.
"What fools" said Shakespeare "these mortals be."
True compassion would not lead to cruelty.
the sense in nonsense
intelligence is not a crime
creativity come in different
manners
just because we are use
to a particular way
never means
there is no other ways
we live in a world
were people don't know
how things could be recreated
if is not the same old way
then it makes no sense
the sense in nonsense
we are all addicts
in different manners
we can't grow on other
ways than the ones
we are chained with
it is a challenge to
many to accept
new ways
they can't even try
cos for them it can't
be possible
so till date they
are bound in a
particular circle
the sense in nonsense
too many creative mind
are been bullied
cos the bullier don't
understand what it takes
to create
so many are face with
this kinds of issue
many are scared to be
bullied
so they let their dreams die
sorry I can't allow such
so do not be blind
the sense in nonsense
we live in a world of
programming programs
we are like sheep
lead like a zombies
we are scared for life
we are always hungry
for a master
cos we are use to control
so so many mind are closed
closed from the reality
and when you try to
weak them up
you become a disturber
in their captivity
the sense in nonsense
no one is perfect
no one is always right
no permanent systems of life
that can't be improved nor
change
we live in a deep world
the more we keep
living the more deep
we go
so when you ignore
the call of reason
from the voice of truth
cos you are dormant
to a particular systems
same systems that depress
you ability of growth
is time to wake up
see beyond the old way
so far every new ways
will always be a nonsense
for you
everything with sense
will always be a nonsense
as long as one refuses
to growth beyond a
particular limits
that is
the sense in nonsense
We took seeing our friends and family for granted.
We could do that any day of the week if we wanted to.
Children sat in dark houses for days at a time, pushing buttons.
Listening to bells and whistles, losing their enthusiasm for outside or friends.
They could play with them any time – if they wanted to.
But the bells and whistles held them hostage.
The subliminal blips kept them prisoners.
Until they stopped playing, like little addicts, wanting their fix.
Then the pandemic came to visit. Suddenly we could not visit.
We could not see our friends or family.
OUCH! Now we really wanted to.
We began go hunger for human contact.
For hugs and kisses, for pats and taps.
Alas, time had run out.
This time was past.
So we returned to our unsatisfying addictions.
And here is our list of winners:

O, you lucky duck progressives, you!
Your tour guide will be the hologram of Chicago's late Mayor,
Richard J. Daley
Who will show you his administration's 'crown jewel,'
its experiment in 'public housing'
The Robert Taylor Homes on the South Side
Cabrini-Green on the Near North
'Hizzoner' the Mayor will show you apartments in the cinder-block buildings
on the day of their inauguration, gleaming-clean and pristine...
... Then you'll view them a handful of years later
Boarded-up windows, graffiti everywhere
Gunfire crackling, drug addicts cackling
blocking entrances and stairs...
The best of progressive intentions gone a-glimmering
Give tenants something for nothing, they get ~ angry
"Why we gettin' this sheet"
Oh, how we loathe those who drink,
Such sinners, such losers, they are!
But we think we certainly are far more than perfect?
As we drive high on pot, drugs and booze zooming our oh, so saintly cars?
We stamp their foreheads with big letters, "DOOMED"
Never realizing that praying to God, is the very least we can do.
It's tragic for all involved, the drinker, the family and all his friends, too.
They make him or her the evilest and of him as a human, they loathe and eschew.
Having no idea that lawyers, priests, writers, actors, teachers and children as young as thirteen.
At this very moment attending AA meetings, their desire to be clean and sober is astonishingly keen!
It's never to late to live!
Unless you know someone who has overcome this most daunting task.
You are doomed to think they are lost with their face in a glass.
Untrue, a lie, please have faith in the Lord for healing, on your knees be kneeling with some feeling?
Only Satan wants you to buy into the concept, that there is no room and no hope for healing.
Dedicated to the alcoholics who still suffer, their families and friends!

In memory of my husband. Gone, but not forgotten!
You have not yet learned how to scream
Nor shout or yell or call
You have learned how to bottle
Pouring wines from your fingertips
You are a vineyard of emotions
Anger plucked too early from the vine
Is the sourest crop you grow here
But guilt is your most popular flavor
You sell a wine called "The Seven Sins"
You had no idea fermented fear would sell so well
It fills your head with whispers or addicts
But customers love the adrenaline aftertaste
I'd like to buy your vineyard, please
I'd like to burn it to the ground
I'd like to set the "no talking" sign aflame
And I'd like to hear you scream
As your life work falls to ash and smoke
I'd like to hear you scream
Please, I beg, learn how to scream.
