You claim that we live in a just society
One where law comforts the innocent
And justice punishes the victim
But that's not true is it?
When in reality it's the opposite of that
Especially when you are black
For us We live in an alternate reality
Where this doesn't happen
Where we the innocent are falsely imprisoned
And our oppressors are rewarded with freedom
The system acts like it cares
Gives us an olive branch
A promise of peace
Of equality
A false act of kindness
To fool the blind and ignorant
The ones who will believe anything
Leaving us feeling foolish
Hopeless
That for once we'd get our justice
But then again can a tiger really change its stripes?
Because after all salt can be mistaken for sugar
How can we trust a system
Built of racism
That has constantly failed us
Left us broken
And often kills us
If this is your idea of justice we don't want it
Stop putting on this performance
Your walls are collapsing
Your exterior has faltered
Even a mirror cracks in your presence
Broken by the weight of your lies
Angered by your intentions
Your hate mirrors your reflections
A system so threatened
By our existence
That it's whole foundation created to kill us
We tiptoe past her, the violets said. She does not like our colors.
They are every hue of violet, purple, and a few are azure blue.
But you are beautiful, I assure them. They scoff at my innocence.
You are naïve’ they tell me, but we like you anyway.
She would transmogrify us into pink tulips or Pepto Bismol roses.
I laugh at the thought, realizing I have never seen violets like that.
We kid you not, they tell me. When you meet her, do not make eye contact.
How can I meet her without it? I ask.
They have no answer, for they are posies, not politicians.
They want to be cagey and maniacal, but what flowers are?
I tiptoe past them over the hill where Bubblegum Queen waits.
She is devouring petals from a rose bush when I arrive.
Who do you think you are? She asks me with an air of rudeness.
I am shocked, because I was about to comment on her beauty.
She has pink hair, pink skin, pink lips, and beautiful blue eyes.
But her manner is cold and heartless with a twang of meanness.
Suddenly I remember that outside beauty means nothing.
Weird that I have to relearn this lesson almost every time.
I guess society has done a job on me with their glossy magazines.
I am nobody I tell her. She gives me an arrogant half nod.
Solitude is now a trained trait
It’s easier than teaching the selfish to cooperate
Past the lights of yesterday
I see tomorrow fade away
Mundane voices talk with ease
Explaining why we go to sleep
Hieroglyphics carved in walls
Lead the way into our stalls
Different tones above our skies
Give our gods an alibi
Friendless souls still stomp around
Deciding if they own our town
Pristine people right and true
Can be bribed to work four you
Forced in to a governmental sacrifice
Seems to decrease our economical price
My minds been monopolized
Taken hostage by a pack of lies
Our love smothers, we destroy with hate
Emotional providences we can’t regulate
Poison from a broken heart
Can be used to dip a dart
Men have fought on foreign land
War has always been freedoms demand
Fallen comrades buried deep
Buried with the maps we seek
Thoughts not directly from my mind
Take refuge in my memory at times
Strong and educated we are immense
Unable though to choose sides of defense
A stagnate society lies in wait
Watching to see what our children create
Promises made of true satisfaction
Redeemed By investing in political action
The flag though torn still it waves
Granting our freedom, although were not enslaved
We have the choice or so they claim
To play like them or lose the game
Our elders, our teachers, to us they now run
Grappling at their justice; for answers, to us come.
Angelic facial features with huge sparkling eyes
A perfect youthful dewy complexion
Very long silky looking thick hair
Red pouty lips moist with bright cherry gloss
Long red nails with big sparkling rings
A 22-inch waist, with perfect measurements
Legs that go on and on, forever, with
Perfect feet and toes in spiked heels
A very busty hour glass figure....
This air brushed enhanced fantasy woman can be found in most fashion magazines.

This was poem is written to bring attention to teenagers and the perfect body images they are trying to compete with. This has caused self-esteem issues and eating disorders as well as depression and suicidal thoughts. It would be so nice if our society depicted normal healthy realistic women in fashion magazines!
Salome of chapel Street
Is weaving her body to a chemical induced beat,
Synapses electrified, imprisoned in a psychological
Loop,
Barefooted With grubby toes she twirls in little
Circles,
Throwing her hands in the air as she tries to bridge
The divide between the land and the sky.
Busy people with busy lives take a glance and
Stroll on by.
She stops to smile at her reflection,a true friend
The only one she trusts,
She starts again just herself and the cosmos,
Rotating with arms outstretched hoping to catch
A star.
O salome what betrayal Has fallen upon your
Pink dyed hair?
And the dribbles seeping from your pouting lips?
What hope have you of slaying the dragons of the
Mind?
Hiding behind concrete curtain eyes,
And so on she goes spinning in a stupor
Beneath the wrought iron clock of the old jeweller's
Shop.
my mother professed to not like dogs
But dogs liked her.
My twin does not like a dog
She does not see value in a dog
She does not want a dog
She is fearful of dogs
And yet here I am
the queen of the dog-lovers
I have had up to nineteen dogs at one time
I used to get sad at my job
so I would stop at the humane society
and pick up a puppy.
A puppy always alleviated my sadness.
A puppy always makes me incredibly happy.
I love dogs, I adore them, they are joyous beings.
I love their enthusiasm and their happy puppy-ness
Dogs have made my world better than I ever knew it could be.
I feel sorry for people who do not love dogs.
As far away as I was you lead me back home
Teaching me how to pray even as I did roam
Never leaving my side always calling my name
Though I didn't abide and was filled with shame
But You Took that blame all of it You took away
Holy, Holy, Holy is Your Name teach us to Pray
Open up all of our eyes as it becoming so late
With the devils lies society can so easily equate
With all Your Light Shone everything far and near
It's just in there tone that for them I begin to fear
No one enters but through all Your Grace completed
Lord if they only knew next to the Father Your Seated
Lord if they only knew not just the mashing of teeth
Their sins coming due as they lay that funeral wreath
But of Your Love and Grace and Your abundant Mercy
They can't see it in this place, please Lord help them see
It was quite a surprise to us
when monsters came out of the night,
the beasts and bad guys of legends
who for so long gave us a fright.
We thought they lived on movie screens,
pulpy books, and local folklore,
until they came to prey on us,
and we all learned that they were much more.
The panic, at first, was intense,
folks were dying, it seemed surreal,
vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts,
and other such beasties were real.
They were as bad as legend said,
but we soon figured out one truth,
the ways to kill them in legend
really worked—we knew what to do.
The werewolves were the easiest,
you just bought some silver-tip rounds,
given all this country’s hunters
it took two years to gun them down.
As for ghosts, if you do not know,
ectoplasm is diffuse matter,
floating in air, it is easy prey
for the common vacuum cleaner.
Then dump it into a furnace,
and watch the ghostie burn away,
old houses everywhere were safe,
no more hauntings came into play.
Vampires could blend in the best,
of the monsters they killed the most,
UV flashlights or smeared garlic
was all it took to make them toast.
The zombies, good lord, they were slow,
and not all that hard to destroy,
army snipers would take head shots,
and attack choppers were deployed.
They’d shoot down with their miniguns,
guaranteed they’d catch zombie head,
since the undead liked to cluster,
an easy target for sprayed lead.
We even had a kaiju-type
dragged its lumbering form onshore,
just as big as a skyscraper,
a three-hundred foot carnivore.
We fired antiship missiles,
half-dozen of them did the trick,
set up some coastal air patrols
to take care of the beasts right quick.
In retrospect, it all makes sense,
after all, we are humankind,
we’ve been waring since we could walk,
countless weapons came from our mind.
We’ve killed sabertooths and smallpox,
run down real threats without pity,
killed tens of thousands in battle,
even nuked two of our cities.
What’s a werewolf compared to that?
What threat’s a vampire these days?
Those beasts should be afraid of us,
since we always find ways to slay.
Maybe we need better monsters,
a challenge for our evolved state,
something that can inspire fear,
the kind we can appreciate—
CONCLUDES IN PART II.
It was that bloody Sunday, March 7, 1965
The fight and struggle
The revolution with Hate and Love
The multitudes to convey the Civil Rights message
The shall in overcome
Marching for Miles
It was during the period of Dr. Martin Luther King style
Former Representative John Lewis and many other legacies that support the mission were involved
Chanting in song while
Determination steady and strong
Race shouldn’t be a factor, but character being an honor
The people of Selma knew they were created to be among society
No mistake, Heaven’s purpose
It was about coming together as a Nation
Opposition negativity thought otherwise
Hate was the voices of the opposed and Civil Rights Activist chose Love
Hate doesn’t understand
Love sustains value
The people of Selma understood that guided by God’s Wisdom
The voice of the Kingdom
Multitude voices refused to surrender in negative thoughts and evil ways
The theory was “Together We Shall All Stand”
Change was going to come
Selma did win, and love and embrace became victory
Yet we are not back to the story of another
It is 2025, and opposition is trying hard to go backgrounds while we the people thought we were going forward
Backwards to where all struggles began with more racial disturbances start up
The fight is on again being more determined than ever before being the need to “UNITE and OPPOSE”
Can’t be still
There’s still Civil Rights to continue to fulfill
While we have breath in our bodies at will
There cannot be a pause nor silence
Civil rights, Liberty and Freedom
Shouts of dignity our cause
We will win again until we all rise together as one.
