Sunbeams caress me with their touch—
a talent that Spring breezes share.
At first, it does not feel like much,
and yet, it is beyond compare,
like an answer to a prayer.
Honking geese are first to take wing,
flocking north on breaths of warm air:
upon the arrival of Spring.
Rabbits start to breed in their hutch,
while parking lots host a Spring fair.
An extravaganza, as such,
that lends excitement to the air;
a flourish of color and flair.
And the songbirds begin to sing
while building nests, as couples pair
upon the arrival of Spring.
Kids skip rope, playing double-Dutch:
for there is no snow anywhere.
Nesting birds start laying their clutch,
as wildflowers bloom everywhere.
And an earthy smell scents the air
with aromas Spring breezes bring.
For flurries are fleeting and rare,
upon the arrival of Spring.
As folks start donning leisurewear;
it gives Spring its own unique zing.
And passion's flame begins to flare—
upon the arrival of Spring.
